Has anyone else had this done and if so how long did you pay for? Spa are offering 15 min or 30 min but I wonder if 30 min will be too long/will be boring??? Were you pleased with the results??

I would be lost if my feet were baby smooth

I spend winter evenings picking my feet

AnyFucker · 12/09/2010 22:32

that is the most disgusting thing I have heard all week...

seaturtle · 12/09/2010 22:35

I never knew this kind of treatment existed. I wish I still never knew! It's given me a laugh anyway.

BelleDameSansMerci · 12/09/2010 22:38

Ewwwwwwww... Vile but intriguing. I'm sort of shuddering but wondering if it would be worthwhile.

Ladidadi- where are you having this?

OlaJordansBodyDouble- Where did you have it done?

Ive heard of this and would like to give it a try, let us know how it was.

springaporesling · 13/09/2010 12:44

There are lots of these places here (am in Singapore). It's quite good fun and feet definitely smoother/softer afterwards. Tickles to start with but once you get used to it it's fine. Worked wonders for BIL's feet - he's a painter and decorator and his feet are horrible. Make sure you don't put your feet in a tank with someone who has worse feet than you though as they know where the best pickings are to be had!

Here you can also put your hands in with the smaller fish - quite good for cuticles I think.

clarebear1 · 13/09/2010 13:25

Id love to have a go. Shame im no where near Singapore

CerealOffender · 13/09/2010 13:26

you are all disgusting!

deaddei · 13/09/2010 13:49

I would have to have my own tank- don't like the idea of sharing.

MadreInglese · 13/09/2010 13:56

it sounds disgusting

MadreInglese · 13/09/2010 13:57

you share tanks with other people's manky feet?

ArghMyEyesMyEyes · 13/09/2010 13:58

Do the same fish do everyone's feet, or do they kill the fish after each nibbling? Shock

ShowOfHands · 13/09/2010 13:59

They do this in Norwich? They can't make me can they? Eugh. I'd rather go to Cromer and let the crabs gnaw at me.

HeadingHome · 13/09/2010 14:05

Did this in Singapore.

It was cheap and lovely - 30 mins is not too long - relaxing and great result.

Not gross - very environmentally friendly!

AnnieOneForTennis · 13/09/2010 14:06

I had it done on holiday, I liked it! 15 mins for about Eur8 I think it was. My feet felt lovely and smooth afterwards, though that may have been helped by being submerged in water for 15 mins. It felt really tickly. Could have stayed longer and I would do it again.
Everyone had to clean their feet with disinfectant before they got in.

I've read about it before, it's supposed to be really helpful for people with eczema or psoriasis (sp?) but I can't imagine dunking my head in if I had it on my scalp!!

LaDiDaDi · 13/09/2010 18:07

Ok, well it was soooo very ticklish at first, I kept giggling out loud. The spa lady said that some people had screamed and others hadn't even managed to put their feet in the tanks. Our feet are better; mine still have some dry skin on the heels but they were really bad to start with, my mum's are great though. I will definitely go back!

There were 8 tanks of fish and apparently they get some kind of special algae food at night but the rest of the time they just eat dead skin!

SimpleAsABC · 13/09/2010 18:13

Sure it's not for everyone but glad to hear it worked!

PlumSykes · 13/09/2010 18:14

AMAZING! And there is one 'coming soon' to my city. Hurrah!

It is quite pleasant. It is like having your feet in fizzy water.

Unfortunately it didn't make much difference to my feet.

They also did one for hands, and I remarked to my daughter that it would be good for my cuticles.

DD then yelled over to DH, "Mummy wants to have the fish nibble off her testicles"
Then she went Blush
