Trainers are fine when it is dry but when it is wet and muddy they will be crap!

Honestly Navy if you go for low walking shoe/boots with jeans/trousers they will just look like trainers anyway.

I wear mine as trainers, today I have on the shoes, boyfriend jeans, long sleeved black t and a grey zip up top. I don't look like I'm off to climb Snowdon , honest

The only added benefit is they support your feet abit more, and are waterproof.

If you wear them with walking shorts, big woolly socks and carry a walking pole then yes you may look a little dorky Grin.

Apologies to any of you that actually wear the above outfit.

I don't even know if I should admit to this takes cover but I was hoping to wear them with jeggings; so you will be able to see them quite clearly!

They look good. My dh has some Brasher boots and they have lasted well.

find a baseball cap and some shades, and sneak to your nearest (or furthest) decent outdoors store.

try some on.

you may even feel liberated enough to take off the hat when you leave and face the world bravely. Wink

navyeyelash - ah, now I understand. The shoes I suggested are wonderful for walking around town and perhaps some short off-road rambles, but definitely not what you want/need for hiking. I misunderstood what you wanted.

BTW, the ones you're leaning toward look sturdy, supportive and non-dorky. Imo, of course. Wink

Not sure how trendy Sorel boots are in the UK, but come Nov 1st over here in Denmark EVERYONE will be wearing a pair with jeans/leggings etc. Usually the Caribou ones. Comfy, warm, waterproof but quite pricey...

Sorel

They could fit the bill?
