Coats for 9 year old boys

Feel like I'm searching in vain. We need something with a hood but detachable, showerproof (preferably) but most of all warm. Quite like this from Joules. Am not sure whether he'll do padded or not, probably not, and definitely no fur. Got a Fat Face coat last year and the wind would blow straight through it.

What are your 9 year olds wearing (gotta be kinda cool at that age Grin) and any suggestions please.

Thanks!

I bought a lovely coat from H&M for ds last year - padded, detachable hood, waterproof. It was pretty inexpensive too, iirc. By 9, he'll be wearing clothing from the teenage range. Which makes it cool, I guess Grin

My 9-yr-old is wearing this. Waterproof, hood tucks away. Prob not good for arctic weather but they can always wear an extra fleece underneath. And it's on sale!
