ok its a school so is smart casual - no denim jeans. i am wearing trousers and a man style shirt today.
i always have the tops issue when its mid season. winter is no ussye. cardigans can make me look mumsy, sweaters are too on and off.

what do you wear? i am busty AND short wasited so drapey things look odd,

What about fitted cardies with slightly looser thinnish tops underneath - Nigella style (she is busty and short-waisted no?)

Can you do riding jacket type things? Zara have some lovely ones in

i think id feel overly formal in a jacket. fitted cardies CAN be a bit WI and i never seem able to make it work
i HATE this inbetween weather!

I was thinking of fitted jackets as more of a Toast/Brora look, with a chartouche (or, as normal people call it, big scarf ).

Isabelle Oliver very nice if a bit pricey (but you get what you pay for.

The White Company also do good basics and i have some nice jackets from Boden (yes go on, sneer)

I think you can't go far wrong with a cashmenre v nack, scarff and/or necklace and smart trousers.
After lengthy investigations, discovered that M& S do best fit.
