Dungarees no good for crawling babies??

Seen a few comments on here where people have said dungarees are no good on crawling babies cos the poppers come undone and babygrows are better. Surely if crawling makes the poppers come undone on dungarees, then the same will happen with babygrows? Also if the poppers are coming undone, doesn't it just mean they are getting a bit small?

I always found babygrows to be useless on crawling babies - their legs get all caught up in the main body part. Anything without feet on is fine.

My two never had a problem crawling in dungarees - babygros with feet, though, were definitely a problem. Footless ones, as bertiebotts says, were better. Or trousers.

mine always crawled their way right out of trousers, crawled up inside the baby grow, dungarees or nothing best of all ime

DD has never worn dungarees. They're a complete faff for either nappy changing or potty training, so there didn't seem much point.

I love dungarees on 15mo DS!
I can see they might cause problems when we get to toilet training but no problems with crawling and they stop the top of his nappy showing between tops and trousers.
IMHO they look v cute :)

I think it depends on the strength of the poppers. I've been given some hand me downs which have obviously seen many babies and the poppers are very "weak", so any movement opens them up. Other dungarees are no problem at all. And I'm another one who finds them really cute. Smile

i used to love boden dungarees as they didn't have poppers on were fab. think they do now tho? i loved dungies so warm and comfy for lo's.

I do think they look cute, but I didn't find them practical. It was easier to have vests with poppers on the bottom, and then trousers over the top.

Dungarees without poppers a faff for nappy changing though.

I found dungarees and rompers best for the crawling to walking stage.

It was too much to undo a whole load of poppers all the way round the legs, though. Vests OK because they only had a couple of poppers.

Dungarees are brilliant, especially with a vest with poppers as well because then you aren't constantly pulling trousers up or tops down.

DS wore them when he was crawling, infact they were better than trousers IIRC because the trousers would slowly wriggle down and he'd be left with his nappy hanging out.

Footless rompers are also brilliant for that crawling-walking stage as they don't get tangled round their feet when they are trying to pull themselves up and stand.

i never understood undoing all those poppers much easier to just undo straps and whip em off!
