Ok so i have a grand to spend of clothes (not wanting to show off - really need advice!)

i like most of my clothes but they are not faring well with the effects of an 11 month old plus being washed to death.

because i have been either a backpacker or a student the last 5 years i only ever buy things from topshop/RI/primark (but that stops here!/and the usual high street shops which i assume is why my clothes dont last very long.

anyway i dont even know where to start!

i have got as far as thinking a nice winter coat which doesn't clash with the pram (strawberry) would be a start.....and some flat boots and some underwear and some cardigans......

what else? where should i buy from??

tia

Size? Colouring? Shape? What style of clothes?

sungirltan · 05/09/2010 12:49

doh!

sorry.

right....size 8/10 depending which shop. erm shape??? boyish i suppose but bit more curvy since dd...i am only 5'4" though so anything long like coats or cardigans if its too long i appear to have no legs!

style....i dunno i suppose i should get some magazines. i like long boots and skinny jeans. i rarely wear skirts and i dont like many things with collars because i have a short bob so i think it looks too masculine.

colouring....i have tanned skin/highligeted blonde hair/green eyes i can wear most things but blues and turquoises are v good on me.

Sun... I would so love to have ££££s to spend on clothes - lucky lady Grin
Firstly decide what sort of stuff you need - work? Play? Going out? Then think about what you like and what suits you...
Like you, I am on the short side petite and the shops where I find things that fit well are GAP, Next, Boden, Monsoon (Tops and cardigans), Warehouse, Great Plains, Kew... Might be a good idea to have a browse on line and see what grabs you

Sun... which Boden coat did you go for? The cosmopolitan tee and pretty ruffle tee also look nice and could be good for mummy days with jeans / trousers.
I just bought a dark denim skirt in Gap which i am wearing with T's and cardis and sandals right now... on colder days I will wear with thick tights and wedge boots so see myself getting much wear Grin
