Tailor made/bespoke shoes

I'm just wondering if anyone has ever had shoes made specially to fit them and if so how did they rate the comfort of shoe, what did it cost and any comment about the experience really.
I understand that you can get sort of semi bespoke shoes made via the internet - but am not too sure how that would work if you have to take your own measurements. If going to a shop/premises London would be best for me.

Alternatively if any of you have come across court shoe/officey type shoes that are really soft, widish fitting and not too old lady I would love to know where you found them.

Meant to say that I have tried the old faithfuls like Clarks and Ecco and can't find anything comfy enough that looks nice. That's why I am seriously condidering hand made as an option.

Have you tried Duo - they do have a London showroom as well as a website presence and do different width fittings.

Selve come to London periodically and will make to order for a variety of sizes/widths and are cheaper than bespoke as well.

I personally would love a pair of bespoke shoes!

Jimmy Choo offer a bespoke service..Grin

Thanks for the info. Duo looks as if it would also be good for my friend who has heavy calves and can never find boots.

Would love the Jimmy Choos but I'll start of more modestly!

Not bespoke, but have you tried Chie Mihara?

I have ruined, absolutely ruined the financial wellbeing of one of my friends at work by introducing her to Chie Mihara shoes. They're v addictive for famously fussy feet that find other shoes uncomfortable. Hope you don't think they're too nana-ish, they look amazing on. Shoon sells them but not the full range, check the internet for that.

i wear dansko shoes as they are the only ones comfortable enough with arthritis. i buy them off ebay in the US. soooo comfortable.

other than that i had a few pairs of bespoke shoes and boots made when i was in bali. these are very comfy as well and i woul dget more done if i went back as they are a very nice leather and they will do whatever design you want.
