NEED to sort out my wardrobe situation

My clothes are in a terrible state. Everything is primark etc from years ago, so basically falling apart, and doesn't fit. Today i was wearing laddered tights, skanky old knickers, a dress that is at least three years old and full of holes, a pashmina scarf thing to cover up where the buttons had fallen off my dress, an old purple mac that is missing anything that could be missing, tied with a floaty scarf through the belt hooks, and a bra that doesn't fit.

I don't think I look TOO bad from a distance, but I am sick of clothes that need hiding or disguising.

I am mostly SAHM to two under fours, although I do work as an Usborne rep and team leader so need to look presentable, and am considering some volunteer work in a radical library so don't want to look too boring (but also I'm not a teenager any more, or some kind of nob who dresses oddly for the sake of it).

I'm 25, size 12/14, glasses, long dark blonde hair, always wear flat shoes due to medical issues, 2 sections worth of baby belly, maybe about a 34D, good general figure, crap posture, generally covered in crap.

I tend to wear a lot of floaty scarves, dresses, combat boots, jeans with belts, suit jackets belonging to DH, etc (I sound like a nob there- I think I generally look pretty normalish)

I am going to chuck out loads of stuff, and buy some new from DHs work www.fashionunion.co.uk as he gets staff discount. Might even splash out elsewhere- I live near Newcastle, but am pretty skint.

Lol, so, with all that in mind...HELP! I need to start dressing like a grown up.

Start with a pair of jeans that fit, skinny's if they suit or narrow straight legs if not, go for a darkish denim that can be dressed up or down.
Buy some new undies, they don't have to be expensive go to m&s and get some multi packs but get stuff that fits.
Get your self fitted properly for a bra and get at least 1 black and 1 nude that will go with anything.
I also like control panel vest tops - they make clothes hang better and stop bulges.
A couple of basic sweaters to go with jeans pick plain ones that you can dress up with scarves and or chunky necklaces.
If you like jackets invest in a nice jersey blazer.
If you have crap posture stand up straight, if your wearing nice clothes you'll feel more confident and this will be easier - I speak from experience
once you've got basics add to it gradually but try sticking to one colour palette if you've got a small wardrobe then adding splashes of colour through accessories.
hope that helps

Can playsuits ever look good? They look so practical- I'm always pulling up trousers.
