Black trousers and a black and white tunic?

They are summery. Actually I have a lovely red and white skirt that I would love to wear but then I wouldn't know what to wear on top or on my feet. At home I would just wear black flip flop type shoes and a plain red tshirt.

You love the skirt which is fab because you will feel confident in it. Red t-shirt sounds fine. I have chunky calves and need wedges to balance them so you could use the money you were going to spend on a pair - they must be cheap now. You'll need a layer and I see a denim or navy jacket setting this off nicely. What would you normally wear over it if it's a bit chilly?

Is this too formal?

sorrento56 · 28/08/2010 13:53

That jacket is nice.

In the end we went looking and I bought something like this mine is longer and doesn't have the pewter middle it. It is basically that print in a longer length.

Thanks for all your ideas. I might need more help in the future!

Hi, Sorrento, my pleasure, I had fun virtually shopping last night (although dh was a bit worried when he wandered through the kitchen and saw me gazing wistfully at the Hobbs site! Wink)

That is a gorgeous top and I'm sure you look amazing in it. Have a lovely time. xxx

sorrento56 · 29/08/2010 08:50

Thank you. :)

I intend to lose this weight so hopefully will feel better about myself.

Sorrento, I suspect we have similar figures (I'm a 16, pear shaped but also have the tummy to show I had three dc in four years and have a big backside and chunky calves to boot) and I intend to lose weight/tone up too as soon as the dc go back to school (I have a thread somewhere on the big slim topic). But equally I know I can look good now by dressing well for my shape and paying attention to my make-up, having clean hair etc.

You look great. Smile

Have fun. Smile

I am back. I was very happy with what I wore and considering what some people were wearing I could have been less dressed up Hmm. Thanks for all your help :).

For future stuff you could try Bravissimo.I have big boobs and find their stuff is great.I have this dress this pageand find it does for so many events. They have great value in the sale too.

sorrento56 · 30/08/2010 11:15

That dress is lovely but legs are awful Sad.

Sorrento, I often team dresses similar to that over soft wide leg trousers, a bit like Trinny Woodhall does (although I thought of it first Wink) I might not that particular dress because I find firmer fabrics like heavy crepe and linen more falttering but certainly a wrap front dress over wide legs looks great. Or I sometimes layer a dress over a skirt, it works so long as the fabric isn't too full.
