Military Style Jackets (aka Freddie Mercury cast offs)

Went shopping at lunchtime and warehouse was full of them, navy blue short military jackets - think freddie M or Sgt Peppers.

They were not flying out of the shops.

However, I am glad to report that having bought two items, not one shop assistant spoke to me at all...wouldn't want them to break out of their surly stereo type. I said thank you regardless - my mother would be so proud.

PS Does anyone know of any nice dresses with sleeves that reach the elbow. I refuse to wear strapless numbers in autumn / winter. If you come back with Diane von Furstenburg i shall not be happy.

i have a black wool (not fluffy) knee-length Hobbs cape, is it worth pulling it out of the wardrobe, and will i be ridiculed? (it's v sober but does have a hood, but obviously you never put it up unless you want to look stoopid)

motherinferior · 30/08/2005 16:28

I wouldn't, Bundle. I mean, I'm your mate and I wouldn't actually scoff, not audibly, but I might secretly condemn

Go for it bundle

I see an accessorising brooch in my crystal ball.

Was thinking the same about military jackets, but what's the verdict on
this coat
fancy dress or ok? Wish it was in black though.

snafu · 30/08/2005 19:31

The frock coat, turq? Lovely - and nicer in navy than black I reckon. Looks v luxurious.

Nice if you're Lawrence Llewelyn bowen i guess

MrsSpoon · 31/08/2005 15:48

Really like that coat Turquoise.

I have cream jacket on right hand side which is military style without looking too Sgt Pepper. I don't wear it buttoned, think it looks nicer (on me anyway) open.
