I had a fringe cut and it looks crap

Gah, I'm just going to have to wait for it to grow aren't I? Is there anything at all I could do to salvage it? Never really worn clips etc, my sister lent me a head band but I looked even more ridiculous. Feck.

What sort of fringe? A blunt straight across type or a sidey type one?

Is is worth having it trimmed again? My stylist is really crap with my fringe (but great at everything else) so I end up trimming it myself.

Are you sure it looks crap? maybe it's too wispy or maybe it won't sit right as it's used to being parted in hte middle?

BobLoblaw · 26/08/2010 17:34

I used to have a side fringe thing but I decided to try a full fringe, gah, it won't sit right but I think it will look even worse any shorter. If I could find my camera I would try to do a photo.

How quickly does hair grow? Confused

I had a crap fringe cut in last week. I was devastated for a day and then I dug out the hair wax (a dry one- not a greasy one.) and now I have changed my parting and swept it to the side.

Looks great. Even if i do say so myself!

do you have straigteners? Would they help?

pantaloons · 26/08/2010 21:39

bethjeff, what wax did you get, I have a new side type fringe that just will not behave and hubbys wax makes it look like it is in need of a good wash!

FerminaUrbinoDaza · 26/08/2010 21:41

Are you sure it looks crap and not just that you're not used to it? Photo would be very handy.

How's the rest of your hair? Is it a 'solid' fringe or layered? A bit of soft, short layering can work wonders...

Also, I'll take a while for the hair follicles to adjust to being sent in a different direction IYSWIM. It'll almost certainly sit better in a couple of days.

Wanderingsheep · 26/08/2010 21:41

Oh no. I did that in October! Well actually the hairdresser gave me a side fringe that was doing my head in so I went home and chopped it into a blunt fringe Hmm. I was going for the Claudia Winkleman look and thought it would suit me but I ended up spending about 5 months with it clipped back with a kirby grip.

DH couldn't stop PHSL!

I have a blunt fringe until it gets a bit long and then I have a side fringe until it really is time to get the rest of my haircut too! To make my side fringe stay where it should be, I just make sure I dry it to the side (e.g. blast the hairdryer across my fringe, rather then straight down). It stays where it should quite perfectly then Smile
