In between sizes - what to do?

Okay, I really need some decent autumn/winter trousers. The problem is I'm very pear-shaped and everything that fits on my hips gapes massively on my waist, and very few styles have an easily adjustable waistband.

Secondly, I'm also going to be losing weight - oh yes I am - I've put a little on over the summer but come next week I'm going to be doing the fitness thing and not eating out/picnicking three times a week like I am with the dc off school. And hopefully once that is off it'll continue coming off - my end game is to drop 2 dress sizes.

But I don't know how long I will take to get results and I need trousers now!

What to do?

Can anyone help?

I'm in the same boat, my hips don't lie!
I often end up buying trousers that aren't quite right and i take them to a tailor who adjusts them.

Thanks, twoboots. I'd do that if I had got to the point where I was ready to invest in something great, but as I'm hoping to lose some weight very very soon I don't really want to shell out too much just yet.

I know! Eat cheesecake. Nothing that can't be solved with cheesecake.

alterations can be very reasonable: the guy i use usually charges between 10 and 15 pounds depending on what needs to be done. i think a pair of realy cheap trousers can look more expensie if they fit well.

by the way, i'm convinced that war can be solved with cheesecake!!!!

Thatnks, tooboots. You're right about fit being key (says she for whom nothing fits at all at the moment).

Oh yes, cheesecake is definitely the solution to all the world's ills. Tis made from renewables as well, so we can probably fly aeroplanes on it.

Cheesecake ... if someone could please take the rest of this divine chocolate cherry cheesecake out of my fridge I may keep in the trousers I've WWd to fit into for most of the year Smile

it doesnt help that i live within smelling distance of a place that is actually called
"the cheesecake shop"
it has at least 20 varietes on sale to eat in or take away, and ecompases pavlovas, crumbles.
no wonder my hips dont lie
ah well it keeps the tailor happy

xx
