decathalon do some decent ones - online, or in greenwich

colditz · 25/08/2010 20:08

how much of a mucky pup is she?

smart but sweet

squeaver · 25/08/2010 20:09

Have you looked in Zara? I got dd's last two school coats (must be navy) there. Was surprised by how practical they are.

moondog · 25/08/2010 20:12

Too frou frou Colditz-it needs to double up as hill walking coat. I want multi tasking clothing!
I'll check out Decathlon.
I can't seem to find Zara kids online.

Thank you all.

Polarn O Pyret do some waterproof/windproof ones but not yet online.

They are ££ but I find I only buy a fleece & waterproof once every couple of years and they are worn in various layers all year round.

Clayhead · 25/08/2010 20:13

(BTW my dc have walked plenty of hills in their POP coats!)

moondog · 25/08/2010 20:14

Nowt in Decathlon (unless I want fishing gear.)

POP would definitely do the job, if you have a shop near you 9or cna be passing one soon)

expensive though.

great colours as well.

moondog · 25/08/2010 20:20

Never heard of it before..what do you mean they don't do online. They seem to!

There were some ski-type jackets in John Lewis today. DD has a ski jacket from TKMaxx.

you can't order online, moondog. it shows you the collections, and prices, but can't click thorugh to order.

it's a real bugger, but it's worth travelling for.

(dd1 has their pyjamas - she still needs all in one types, and they are the only place I can find that do cotton ones big enough for her)

lovely bright colours, no ridiculous slogans. the clothes wash and wear well too.

TheFallenMadonna · 25/08/2010 20:29

Oh you'll love TK Maxx moony...

sodacrystal · 25/08/2010 20:33

Any of the scandinavian shops e.g H&M are good. Also (surprisingly) Millets - have often got good plain waterproof/fleece layered coats at good prices.

FGM · 25/08/2010 20:40

My DDs have POP coats. Flippin' brilliant. They are virtually indestructible. After being worn solidly by DD1 and then DD2 for about 3 years in total our original POP coat looks brand new. ITA about that horror Moony- I was nearly sick in my mouth, yuk. I prefer kids to have outerwear that is made to withstand, nay, welcomes tearing about in all weathers in comfort.

moondog · 25/08/2010 21:07

Colditz, you're a darling but I swear I would sooner perform fellatio on Robert Mugabe than buy one of those. Grin

I'm loiking POP v much indeed.
Will check out H&M too.
