What knee high boots with short skirts

I'm trying to make an effort with my wardrobe this year (just hit 40 and 2 young kids. Work 3 days a week in a "smart casual office). Have decided to go with above the knee skirts, tights and knee high boots and tops. but maybe they are too "horsey?!

Thanks, but I was thinking of something slightly less equestrian. I just want a failry plain black flat boot that is knee high and fitted. Straight at the toe )but not too straight). What is a reasonable price? I was hoping for c£100, but upto £150 if the choice was limited and the only thing was expensive. Hopefully it will be a wradrobe "staple" for 5 years.
