It's a bit previous - wedding not until next year but I am already starting to panic - Our dear friends are getting married in May and DH is best man, DS is page boy and DD is flower girl. Parents of the bride are very wealthy and her dad is very high up military dude and I am 5'2, size 16 after having the 2 kids and dress in jeans and top every day (when I get out of PJs) and I am starting to get in a right tiz about my outfit. What the hell do I wear and where do I start looking?

Oh dear god - please help me - aaaaarrrggghhh!

I hate shopping since getting my new figure. Shall I start couch to 5k now or what - help help help!!!!

Forgot to add - this is going to be a £180 per head sort of affair in very posh golf club. Even more panic to add to the chaos!!!!

Thong, basque, fishnets and thigh high black boots.

Do you have a local John Lewis? They have personal shoppers that would help. They don't charge either!

Ha! I'd be happy to but fear the flesh overhang might upset the posher guests - I just don't want to look like the pleb that I am for the day and really have no idea how to dress myself anymore.

I want to look nice and am slightly concerned about looking totally out of place next to the rest of my family who will be dressed according to the costumes provided.

Please help me look nice...

yes go to personal shopper in JL

what time of day is wedding? church or civil ceremony?
a dress with a jacket over usually covers all bases for potentially-very-formal weddings as you can keep th ejacket on or ditch it according to the status quo. Also May could be freezing.

You mentioned couch to 5k - I've lost nearly 3 stone since March this year, the running has just enhanced my motivation so much. If you want to shope for new shape and buy something lovely I'm not trying to talk you out of it, but if you would really like to be thinner first running is a really good part oc the package.

SpecialPatrolGroup · 23/08/2010 15:27

Would so love to be back to size 12 and look and feel lovely on the day rather than try to find something to cover my lumps - I wants to look lush and have lovely photos of me with my family all looking lovely.

Hmmm, maybe this is the way forward....

My Mother is similar height and size to you and used JL personal shopper service for a wedding and raved about it.
If you are serious about the running, it is a great way to shift a few pounds and tone up. I run 3 times a week for about half and hour and have lost the post baby stone that needed to go Grin Good luck

SpecialPatrolGroup · 23/08/2010 16:04

I think I'm only carrying an extra 1.5 stones after having both the kids to get back to the days where I looked good and everything fitted - it wouldn't take too much effort if I gave it a real go I don't suppose!

Going to look for downloadable courses...

Well I wouldn't worry about clothes yet - leave that till next spring.

However if you want to lose weight and get back to your normal size - now is the time to start.

There are some brilliant and supportive weight loss threads on here which may help.

But if you don't want to lose weight - you can still look fab you know Smile
