No longer need maternity clothes - what do people do with theirs?

Had baby so no longer need my maternity clothes. Don't have much (few pairs jeans, work suit, tops, pyjamas) - nothing fancy.

I was going to donate them to a charity shop but I'm not sure people buy maternity in charity shops as they probably don't sell much. Would rather give it somewhere that I know they will be used.

Any suggestions as to what I can do with them? Or will a charity shop be able to sell them?

Thanks!

If in good nick you can ebay them. Or Charity shop them - several will either sell or pass on to charities in the third world if they cant sell them.

Our local La Leche branch has a maternity clothes library - otherwise ebay/freecycle/friends.

I can't be bothered to ebay!

I will look at the La Leche website and the local charity shops to see which might be most suitable

Thanks!!

I have given mine to a friend who is pregnant. What about an NCT sale? If you can't be bothered to sell them yourself you could just give them to an organiser and then they can keep all the profits.

good idea to check nct - am happy fir them to keep money for nct. Not sure they'll make much!

Hmm, u should bother with ebay, I just made £54 on my bundle.

girlafraid · 23/08/2010 14:58

I gave mine away using freecycle -and then got pregnant again so had to start buying!

I gave a few bits to a friend and Ebayed the rest. Isabella Oliver and work suits go like hotcakes! I made about £100.

Any good brand will sell well, especially topshop.

Thanks for replies and interesting advice!!

Can you sell bundles on ebay? I couldn't face listing each individually but if I could do it all in one go that wouldn't be so bad

How do you do postage? Maybe I will have a go.

Have a pair of topshop jeans that I only wore a few times so may be worth it!

I e-bayed all mine in bundles. They made better money than most things I have sold on there. I think I sold them in bundles of jeans / tops / wrap dresses / trousers / nursing bras & vests.

I reckon I got at least 75% of what I paid back on the maternity stuff I sold on ebay.

Topshop stuff sells really well - particularly now so few stores carry the maternity range and the full range is not available online.

I am now gutted that I sold everything as pregnant again and can't help but wishing I had some of my lovely old stuff.

I gave mine to a project that gave them out to homeless women and asylum seekers. Sadly its closed now due to lack of volunteers.

Shall be giving the last of my baby stuff to the local Women's Refuge.
