If I bought some grey brogues

To wear with skinny jeans, would I roll jeans up a bit. Sock issue? Long knit etc.

If you are tall, and slim of leg, then roll up a bit, and wear with wool socks in fairisle or stripey autumnal colours, or pringle pattern. Takes attitude though, or you'll just feel silly. (But then in my experience you have attitude, and do not mind feeling a bit silly.)

I do this and it looks ok (I think) I either wear dark socks or no socks at all.

You have to roll them up to the right place though and it has to be thin roll-ups

Those boots are proper gorgeous - though I fear I might be more in the market for the footgloves than the Paul Smiths. Wonder if you could swap the laces for a funky colour?!

Knee high socks and a mini skirt would definitely put me squarely into scaring the horses territory.

I wear them with socks and they look fine.have really fine striped black and grey and brown and grey from gap.Someimes roll up and sometimes don't.have even worn with shorter trousers and looks nice too.I have a pair of old clarks heeled loafers and brogues and they are really comfy too.I think people give these things too much thought and talk themselves out of looking cool for fear of ???????
