this coat here???
It's navy but looks very dark in the picture.

Love Hobbs. Love the coat. Smile

FrameyMcFrame · 20/08/2010 19:51

it's quite expensive but would last a few years I guess...

Overtiredmum · 20/08/2010 19:52

Its gorgeous and would buy it if I had the money but.......... I could buy a whole new wardrobe of clothes for £239!!

LynetteScavo · 20/08/2010 19:53

Very nice.

moonminmama · 20/08/2010 19:55

Its absolutely gorgeous!!

Feelingsensitive · 20/08/2010 19:55

I like it but wouldnt wear it myself as I have large norks and find double breasted makes me look matronly.

FrameyMcFrame · 20/08/2010 20:26

oh I have large chest too, maybe it will look matronly on me...
I'm torn between spending lots on a coat or lots on boots.
These are the boots I'm liking here

but I can't afford the coat and boots...
and I dont know if they would go anyway?

nelsonscolumn · 20/08/2010 20:47

I tried on a very similar style to the coat in Sainsbury's - only £45 but very nice.

Bonsoir · 20/08/2010 20:48

Very dull

LynetteScavo · 20/08/2010 20:52

Bonsoir, you can't just say it's dull without offering an alternative!

nancy75 · 20/08/2010 20:55

if they have it in hobbs rather than Jl there is a 20% off voucher in red magazine this month

Bonsoir · 20/08/2010 20:55

If the OP wants plain and classic, this is much sexier.

bunnymother · 20/08/2010 20:57

The coat is beautiful, really beautiful. I love it! The boots are OK, but not moved by them. They wouldn't be a good match w the coat, IMO, if that was the plan. Think such a sharp, classic coat needs classic boots ie riding boot style.

SixtyFootDoll · 20/08/2010 20:57

Boring coat

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 20/08/2010 20:57

I would buy the coat tis lovely
the boots are great but you could wear anything under the coat (inc pjs to tesco!) and look fab.

southeastastra · 20/08/2010 20:58

\link{http://www.cathkidston.co.uk/p-15270-cath-kidston-nelson-tweed-coat.aspx\has more detail} which i would want to pay for for that price

Bonsoir · 20/08/2010 20:59

And the KG boots definitely do not go with the Hobbs coat.

Ronaldinhio · 20/08/2010 21:03

the coat is dull but nice
ditto the boots

CDMforever · 20/08/2010 21:20

Gorgeous but might need some fancy boots. I too could buy a whole wardrobe for £239!

Ronaldinhio · 20/08/2010 21:33

i like this and this as an alternative

Millie1 · 20/08/2010 22:00

Coat is absolutely beautiful IMHO Grin

FrameyMcFrame · 20/08/2010 22:08

Thanks everyone, I think it's a lush coat but I'm not sure about spending a lot of money on one item anyway.

Bonsoir, the Paul and Joe coat is nice but it's over £100 more expensive and I was pushing it with the budget to start with.
southeastastra, the Kath Kidston coat is not really my colour, I suit blues and was looking for a navy coat really as it will go with more outfits.
Ronaldinhio, the LKBennet is a lovely colour but I didn't want a belted coat, the allsaints caot is lovely but not sure about grey.
I'm being picky really...
I quite liked this one as well

Looks lovely, quite classic. Would probably be able to wear it for several years-if that's what you want.

chocolatefroggie · 20/08/2010 22:25

the coat is gorgeous, I have rather a lot of hobbs clothing (dh gets staff discount Grin ) their stuff is really well made - I usually get bored of it before it gets tatty an I'm really hard on clothes. So a good investment, the military look never really goes out of fashion so you'll definately get a couple of years wear out of it!

I don't like the boots- sorry! don't think they'd go with the coat either - how about [[http://www.hobbs.co.uk/index.cfm?page=1235&showall=true these emily elastic boot in choc]
and if you used the red voucher on the coat you could afford both!

or these are lovely and only £89

bunnymother · 20/08/2010 22:48

The Hobbs coat is much lovelier than the Monsoon one.
