How many pairs of shoes do you have?

HLaurens · 20/08/2010 13:23

I have 21 pairs (shoes and boots) and I've just bought two more. I'm feeling guilty about how many pairs I have - though they all get worn.

I don't know, but it will be a few fewer in a couple of weeks as four pairs of summer shoes head for the bin!

BelligerentGhoul · 20/08/2010 20:55

4 pairs of boots.

Two pairs of wedges.
Two pairs of ballet flats.
One pair of DMs and one pair of DM cone-heeled shoes.
One pair of flip flops.
Two pairs of sandals - one flat, one high.
One pair of mules that I have worn precisely twice.
One pair of slippers.

I HATE shoes and the only reason I have this many is I occasionally buy a pair for an 'event' and then realise how bloomin' uncomfortable they are.

bunnymother · 20/08/2010 21:02

I think about 40 but not sure. I do need some brown flat boots though, so hopefully 41 soon. Unfort my feet are swollen due to twin pregnancy so most are sitting in the cupboards looking at me sadly, while I gaze down at my Shrek feet. Pretty.

BelleDameSansMerci · 20/08/2010 21:20

TheDoodler I don't need that many at all... I want that many! Although, I should confess that I keep my shoes for a very long time (in the original box) and many that have been unworn for a while get an outing when fashion swings around...

I gather pointy-toes are back this autumn/winter - that's great, I have lots of those! I may need a couple of new pairs though Grin

Lauriefairycake · 20/08/2010 21:22

at least 100

boardbunny · 20/08/2010 21:25

About 70. Absolutely no need really, but they do all get worn throughout the year even if just for a token outing. I look after them, still wearing a pair of boots that date from 1995 when the occasion arises. I have no guilt, some people smoke, or buy new prams, or get their nails done each week. I buy footwear :)

HLaurens · 20/08/2010 21:37

Boardbunny - great point! I don't spend on any of the things you've listed but I do spend on shoes and clothes (no need to buy any more handbags since I got my Mulberry Bayswater in Darwin leather a few years back!)

oh no i wasn't being judgemental...

if i won millions i'd have Docs in every colour and length...

i'm just crabby as i never go anywhere nice enough to wear posh shoes - and i can't wear heels due to immobile ankle which bloody annoys me since i used to love them.

BelleDameSansMerci · 21/08/2010 06:47

TheDoodler Sad - no heels when you used to love them is just awful.

without · 21/08/2010 08:28

I've probably got around 100 shoes/boots/flip-flops/walking shoes etc.

I have several pairs I pretty much just look at: my Jimmy Choos are just stunning - art work for the feet.

One can never have enough shoes... doesn't matter what your weight, shoes always fit Grin

EldonAve · 21/08/2010 10:49

I have loads, they don't all get worn as lots are occasion stuff and work heels

JustAnother · 21/08/2010 12:59

around 70. Haven't count them for a while, so it might be a few more. I do wear them all though.

chickydoo · 07/06/2011 18:48

Thought I'd start this thread up again
50 pairs of footwear
10 posh, going out occasion shoes (some I got to go with specific outfits,so pretty old.)
10 wedge type, good for hols, a bit of a heel but not too dressy
10 flats, lofas, pumps,( wear loads.)
10 pairs of boots (high and flat)
5 pairs of flip flops, a couple are pretty knackerd
1 pair wellies
1 pair walking boots
1 trainers
1 pair converse
1 snow boots

I don't feel guilty at all about them. Seems ok to me. Would never go above 50 pairs, if I need or want a new addition I will ebay a pair, or give a pair to a charity shop. Some of them are a bit dated so probably could loose 5 easily, and a couple of the wedges will see their last outing this summer.
None of my shoes were very expensive most from next, better quality ones from LK Bennet sale, a few from Boden.
Handbags, have about 5 good ones, 5 not so good.

MoonGirl1981 · 07/06/2011 19:30

I have 9.

Black classic Dr. Martens
Dr. Marten brown wedge calf length boots
Dr. Marten red Bree shoes (I wear them to work)
Dr. Marten brown sandals
Dr. Marten silver sandals
Dr. Marten black Mary-Janes

(am a bit of a DR. Marten snob and have baaaad knees and ankles)

Black wellies with pink and orange hearts (think from Tesco)
Odessa trainers with coloured butterflies
Bright green frog-face slippers (don't know the make)

stelli · 07/06/2011 20:12

I've 5 pairs of shoes including converse shoes and boots, i do not take much of them because first I think that I should wear those and than if they get worn I can buy a new one..

MrsMeow · 07/06/2011 20:41

I actually don't think I've got that many. DH would beg to differ though! I mainly live in boots though, so have more of those than anything.

One pair Fly long boots
One pair Schuh long boots with heels that I wear for going out
Next black ankle boots with small heel
Red or Dead lace up ankle boots with small heel
Dr Marten slouchy lace up boots

Clarks flat ballet pumps
Next small wedge ballet pumps
Birks
Schuh wedges
Clarks ugly work shoes (bloody comfy though!)
Next wedges

Pink slippers that have seen better days - I really must get a new pair!

And that's it :) I'd love to get a few pairs of bright coloured shoes but I always try and buy shoes that will go with most things in my wardrobe.

Fleecy · 07/06/2011 21:08

Around 100 pairs I think. I love shoes Smile

MissBeehiving · 07/06/2011 21:16

I posted on this thread last year an the shoe collection has grown by about 10, so about 70/80. They arrive but very few leave...

sadiesadiemarriedlady · 07/06/2011 21:23

2 pairs, summer ones and winter boots

FakePlasticTrees · 07/06/2011 21:25

About 50 ish, not sure, but that's about normal, right?

Megatron · 08/06/2011 06:40

About 60 I think. Nice shoes make me smile. Smile

voiceofnoreason · 08/06/2011 11:01

Hmm about 75 pairs - ranging from skanky old walking boots to some adored jimmy choos & loubous. The nicer ones come out v seldom - but they are loved.

I will admit though that i have seen a pair that i adore and have bought two pairs cos i know that once they have worn out they will probably not be on sale anymore. Cos if i love them i will wear them to death.

Mumelie · 08/06/2011 11:29

About 20 pairs shoes, maybe 15 pairs sandals, 15 pairs boots, not enough in my book Grin

Selks · 08/06/2011 11:32

Oh dear. I've probably got around 27 pairs including sandals and walking boots etc, but I only regualrly wear six of them. I seriously need to get rid of some of them.

LilyBolero · 08/06/2011 11:36

I've just added some shoes to my collection, so it is a little less pitiful than it was!
I have;
1 pair low heel tan ankle boots
1 pair mid heel dark brown ankle boots
1 pair black flat shoes
1 pair cream block heel sandals
1 pair flat navy sandals
1 pair tan slip on sandals
1 pair flat summery shoes
2 pairs black heels (1 suede, 1 leather - need these for work, hence 2 pairs)
1 pair purple suede heels
1 pair red slingback wedges
1 pair Salomon shoes (for walking)
2 pairs old shoes for gardening
