Tell me about fitflop boots?

They are available to preorder at the moment.

Will they sell out meaning I have to make a decision now in August?

Do they work even a little bit?

How much height do the heels add? (I am 5ft 10 so tend to favour flat footwear.)

Which pair would you get?

step away from the fitflops. possibly the biggest con of the 21st century.

yes they will sell out but you can console yourself that you are not a complete fashion victim.

Rockbird · 19/08/2010 22:10

They might be a con, I didn't buy them for their arse toning promises but they are the most comfortable shoes I have ever had. Nothing else comes close.

polyhymnia · 19/08/2010 23:11

Totally agree with Rockbird. Though I wouldn't argue they'd toned me,would recommend because they're incredibly comfortable. In fact, after wearing them, all other shoes etc seem less comfortable. I'm 5'9'' and can also say they don't add much height.

Am definitely going to get boots from new range because I wore the black Mukluks I bought last year all through the cold winter and found them great. Also got a pair of limited edition Anna Sui Mukluks with a stud pattern which I loved and will be wearing again this winter. Haven't yet decided for sure which new ones to go for, but probably the chocolate Superboots in suede, as I already have several pairs of black boots.

Traditionally, they've have always sold out fast, but I think they are now less cult, more mainstream and have seen them in a lot more online and local stockists, so decision in August probably not essential (though think I'll preorder because, as you gather, I've become a bit addicted!).

sweaty

teta · 20/08/2010 01:54

Brilliantly comfortable - i wear fitflops in various guises all year round.I think they slightly tone leg up to above knee[but no effect on thighs/bum].Heel is about an inch thick.I don't think they will sell out.As far as i'm aware only the linited edition Anna Sui ones did.Yes, i find the sheepskin ones sweaty if you don't wear socks with them.I am going to invest in the new tan leather boots - but not until the weather gets colder.Times are only going to get harder ie. most people will not have the same expendable income shortly, so i don't understand this obsession with things selling out -they won't!.

Do they have any limited addition ones planned for this year? I liked those Anna Sui ones but don't like the regular ones.

Lauriefairycake · 20/08/2010 10:34

I had a hard time last October getting Mukluks as they had sold out everywhere - I only managed to get a pair as I have small feet.

I don't notice the toning effects but the comfort and support for my lower back is great.

I'm loving those superboots - the short and the long - annoyingly there are no shots yet that show if there are zips up the side - I loathe pull on boots. So I'll be holding off til there are some proper pictures.

polyhymnia · 20/08/2010 19:06

Agree -Mukluks are the only pull-on boots I've liked. Am going to ask the small shop near me which are going to stock the new Fitflop boots if they have zips or not.

Not aware of any limited edition boots planned this winter but will be checking on Fitflop site.

amidaiwish · 20/08/2010 19:19

reckon these have zips or not?

polyhymnia · 21/08/2010 10:45

On the Running Bare site, the blurb about this style (Super Boot) refers to its 'pull-on practicality' which certainly implies no zip. Mukluks actually are easy to pull on (unlike any other pull-ons I've tried) - let's hope these are.

chocolatefroggie · 21/08/2010 10:47

ooh I just bought a pair of short mukluks yesterday - they are sooo comfortable! I shan't be taking them off until may at this rate Grin
