Are fringes really high maintenance?

Having hair cut - well trimmed - on Friday and I am tempted to have a fringe. I have just past shoulder length straightish brown hair which has long layers and I never really wear it down. It gets greasy very quickly. The hair around my face which is shorter than the rest really gets on my nerves and i am always putting it behind my ears or clipping it back Can't link photo as I don't know how sorry.

I think it would be a nice change but would it annoy me? What do people think? Do you have a fringe?

Oooh I love a fringe!

I say go for it and no they aren't high maintenance. I have a full fringe and it's no bother at all.

I trim it meself every week - takes 5 mins!

Have you got straight hair bunny? How long have you had a fringe? Can you just wash it and go?

Even though the salon will offer free fringe trims you will do it yourself and mess it up and then have to pin it back. Trust me, will look good for about 3wks until it needs trimming.

Hair is pretty straight. My friend cut it originally about a year ago and now I trim it.

I was fed up of long limp hair around my face and have always fancied a fringe. I love it!

I wash and and blow dry my hair and then just pop a large roller in my fringe until I'm going anywhere. Easy peasy!

They're not high maintenance at all. I have wavy hair and a full fringe and it gives you an instant style whether it's up or down.

The best bit is if the rest of your hair is greasy or in need of a wash, you can just quickly wash and blow dry the fringe over the bathroom sink, stick the rest up in a messy bun and you still look fab.

Heehee I thought I was the only one to do that BelieveInLife! Grin

I wanted a fringe for years but hairdresser kept talking me out of it because I have a cowslick - in the end I said I wanted one regardless - it was hideous - I was constantly checking it in the mirror and trying to straighten it.

I now have a side fringe - quite heavy and I think it looks great - easy to maintain and - hides the wrinkles too Grin

Just saying for you to think about a side fringe if full one isn't for you for whatever reason
