Ive never been. Its four nights and I dont want to take a load of stuff.

During the day Im sorted but, what are evenings out like? Im a 14 and curvy. I dont want to take four pairs of shoes and Ive been told theres loads of walking involved so nothing too high either!

Has anyone seen anything it has to be stuff I would wear again. Im thinking Christmas parties etc. I dont want to look like mutton.

99% of the clientele in casinos wear the same thing regardless of the time: jeans/shorts and t-shirts. In fact, most of the people attending the shows are also dressed like slobs casually.

Unless you're planning to visit one of the ultralounges or similar, fancy clothes are not obligatory. Sometimes not even then.

If it's quiet, they'll let anyone in, even me. I'm scruffy at the best of times and last time I was there I was also 6 months pg.

Just take a couple of summer dresses that you can pair with evening shoes for the nights.

I was expecting high glam!!! Is LA pretty casual as well then?

What are the bars like? Ive never been out in the states before. Do they get sniffy about what you look like?

Has anyone seen any stylish shoes that are good for walking in? I dont want to buy sandals at this time of the year.

Nahh, Hollywood does Vegas a disservice. It's mostly full of American tourists who, bless them, are not known for their glamour.

I only spent a few days in LA, and mostly in Santa Monica at that. I would say, at a push, that it really doesn't matter what you wear. Even in the nicest restaurants, most of the clientele are dressed casually (expensively, maybe, sometimes). I'd go for neat, classy casual stuff: good jeans, nice shoes, that sort of thing.

In my experience bars and clubs in the US are a lot more relaxed. I've never come across anyone who was as anal about trainers, for example, as English club bouncers.

I have also cruised a lot, and always get a bit annoyed that it's the Americans that let the side down. They are either glammed up, white tie and thousand dollar dresses, or slobbing about in shorts and polo shirts.

You'll be fine. They want your money, honey, they're not so fussed about what you're wearing Grin

Have a lovely time. Go to Mulholland Drive whilst you're in LA, the views are amazing, and Venice Beach. The rest is a big car park.

For Vegas, casual summer dresses will be fine for night. It is surprisingly casual.

Whilst warm outside however it is annoyingly cold inside due to the freezing AC - I'd take a small cardi or pashmina if you're planning on stopping in the casinos for any amount of time.

I'm confused - are you going to Las Vegas or Los Angeles?

If Vegas, I was there last November and I'd agree with those who say Americans are generally casual - but if you want to have a drink or eat at a smart hotel, you'll feel more comfortable if you're nicely dressed.

I'd say take whatever you'd wear to a reasonable restaurant in the UK.

I wore ballet flats as there is a lot of walking, and wished I'd brought my boots when I was there, as everyone who looked nice was pretty much dressed for a very mild autumnal day.

Agree with the outer layer - and we needed it in the evenings as well.
