Seeking old-fashined hairclips

MrsBadger · 15/08/2010 16:28

for dd

you know, the ones with the wire loop fastener we used to wear as children thus
the smaller and lighter the better

Not snap clips, allligator clips, claws or kirbigrips
Not Claires, Boots, Superdrug, supermarkets or local chemists.

any ideas?

ah, one of the tricky ones.

V hard to fine ime. You can indulge in the no slippy hair clippy - but v expensive.

I love those btw, preferably with little teeth for minimal slip but they only turn up every so often in odd places like bhs.

KnitterInTheNW · 15/08/2010 16:39

H&M? Monsoon/Accesorise?

MrsBadger · 15/08/2010 16:56

[googles no slippy hair clippy]
hmm
they still appear to be aligator-type ones
I need osmethign that completely encloses a bunch of hair (iyswim)
even the tiniest Frnech barettes are too big

are you growing out a fringe? we currently do that quinn febree french plait across the front fixed with a teeny weeny no catch elastic, see through normally.

HuckingFell · 15/08/2010 17:04

also find using the teeny see through elastics for holding purposes followed by any clip for fixing into position v effective.

MrsBadger · 15/08/2010 17:09

kind of - she's never had a fringe but is still growing out her baby-hair

atm our best style is two half-ponytails (iyswim) - I have some teeny bands but DH's fingers are too big to use them and I thought those clips would be foolproof

but can I find any? Hmm

I know, they are so much better than the sleepy clips.

Dh puts does a cotton hairband with the elastic at the back tbh. It stays in looks nice and keep the hair off her face.

I have been through the two half ponies, it does look v cute at that age.

I have been looking for those slides for a while, two dds with slippy hair means anything without teeth slides out and they look like they have been dragged through a hedge backwards.

HuckingFell · 15/08/2010 17:28

maybe?

oopsandbabycoconuts · 15/08/2010 17:35

What about these or these?

MrsBadger · 15/08/2010 17:51

good site, oops

these might cut it

Hucking, these no-slip ones might be wortha look - I really rate Scunci.

did i offend you with my choice of hair clips Grin

MrsBadger · 16/08/2010 15:06

no not at all, they were jsut a bit... much

she is only 3 and they're only for nursery - £11 for one seemed a bit excessive
