Getting married on Aug 28th, but will be baking atc on the day before, and at the register office the day before that. Plus I don't want to turn up with some kind of rash.

I'm thinking an eyebrow wax (something that I tend to get done every six months or so, but haven't had done for over a year now)and my nails filed and painted (dark purple) as I find that it lasts loads better when done in a shop.

How far in advance do you think I could get this done?

Also, I'm thinking of gasp shaving my legs, which again I haven't done in yonks, how far in advance should I do it to avoid a rash or stubble?

Do I have any control over what my hair will look like, or do I just need to give it a wash the night before and hope it doesn't go odd? (weird, frizzy, flyaway, slightly wavy but won't take any kind of style long mousy blonde hair) I'm thinking of a half ponytail with some wispy bits around my face, veil somehow attached at back of head, tiara kind of shoved in at the top. Is there some kind of trick to this, or is it just like that?

How do I stop mascara making my eyes feel all dry and itchy? I like wearing it, but I always end up rubbing it off.

I have a 3yo DD1 with lovely long blonde hair with little curly and wavey bits, it really is beautiful, but do I need to resign myself to it being full of cake etc and tangled up in knots by the end of the day if she has it down, or is there a magic solution? Is it worth me even trying to get her and DD2 (9mo) to wear any kind of tiara/flowers etc in their hair?

I still have a baby belly, and will be eating huge amounts of cake. Dress is a bit boned, but belly may still be there- are there any magic comfy control knickers for cheap in the world?

So, yeah...basically, how do I do any kind of personal grooming? :D

I am also a terrible slob but managed to scrub up OK for my wedding.

M&S for cheap magic knickers or John Lewis for cheap but nice control top tights. Do NOT wear tights over magic knickers as they tend to bond together.

Get your manicure, legs (the longer the hair the better!) and eyebrows waxed at the same time: about 3-4 days before the day should be OK. You might get a discount if you do all the treatments at the same time.

Have your hair put up at a local hairdresser's before the wedding. Hairdressers seem to really like putting hair up and fastening in tiaras and so forth and it's not horrendously expensive.

Get some mascara for sensitive eyes: I always like Maybelline, or you can push the boat out and get them dyed at the same time as your eyebrow wax.

No suggestions for the little ones, unless you have the patience to do a couple of French braids and add a few pretty slides for the older - a 9 month old is cute enough without any additions imo. My dd is the same age and would just pull off and eat anything I put on her head.

In summary: an afternoon at a beauty plus an hour or so at a hairdresser should see you right.

Good luck!
