Stylish yet functional, or just a bit dull?.

Have we had a stylish raincoat with a hood thread yet this year?

Not in the pink - I'm thinking Expedition Green.

I've just been a bit sick in my mouth.

piratecat · 15/08/2010 11:30

bit frumpy for me

moondog · 15/08/2010 11:31

It's a minger luvvie.
Sorry.
Very 'I'm popping into Marks for a triple pack og giant knickers then off home for a nice cup of tea and a bourbon.'
And there is no such thing as stylish with a hood.

Hassled · 15/08/2010 11:34

Damn you all. You're bloody right. And I do fancy a bourbon.

There has to be a stylish with hood coat out there. There was last year and the year before that, but I didn't need one then - this is one of those perennial thread things. It's only a matter of time before someone tells me to search teh archives.

yes, it's the hood thing isn't it, you immediately loose style points when you look like little red riding hood, a nan, or a 4 yrs old lol!

Hassled · 15/08/2010 11:41

I will persist. I will prove you all wrong - I NEED a hood because umbrellas and their eye-poking potential scare me, plus I lose them.

Hassled · 15/08/2010 11:45

OP posts:
Hassled · 15/08/2010 11:49

Noddy - I dunno. Would I not look like Morph?

Second on only looks good styled as it is in the photo V unlikely you will be dressed like that day to day!

noddyholder · 15/08/2010 11:50

My friend bought one last year in a grey colour and it is a great shape on and looks expensive and stylish believe it or not!Whay about uniqlo?

piratecat · 15/08/2010 11:52

i was going to suggest a parka, i have one and I think the hood is ok with it. It's no good as a waterproof coat, but it's shower proof, and the hood is massive!!

Hassled · 15/08/2010 11:52

This is an exercise in what not to buy - WTF were they thinking?

OP posts:
noddyholder · 15/08/2010 11:53

this?

Hassled · 15/08/2010 11:56

ooh Uniqlo - how about this?
Thank you!

OP posts:
piratecat · 15/08/2010 11:57

another parka!!

Hassled · 15/08/2010 11:57

X post - right, I have a contender :o.

OP posts:
noddyholder · 15/08/2010 11:57

great minds

piratecat · 15/08/2010 11:58

why can't i see the bottom of the picture of that parka?

Hassled · 15/08/2010 11:59

piratecat - I do like that, but I'm 44 and fretting that that's a young person's coat (the same applies to my ASOS ones earlier). I don't want to look like mutton, or like a frump.

OP posts:
noddyholder · 15/08/2010 11:59

God I am 44 and have a parka Shock

Hassled · 15/08/2010 12:06

Sorry - I've lost all sense of perspective re what's appropriate clothing and suspect I do look like mutton much of the time. And today I look 44 going on 50.

Many thanks everyone for your help - I think I'm going for the Uniqlo :).
