In 10 days Hmm Blush

Have halter neck maxi. Its slightly too is tight across back, and as its chiffon type material and zip there is no give.

It doesnt look really bad, but I am aware of it...is there anything at all I can do between now and....next Friday?Blush

I'm doomed aren't I. Sad

in ten days, I bet if you really go on a bit of a detox and eat fresh veg and fruit and no crap, and dont drink any alcohol youll lose a little bit.....or you could go for one of those wrap things if you can affort it, a friend of mine went for one and lost quite a bit (would it be water retention or something?). good luck!

TrillianAstra · 11/08/2010 18:40

Wear a cardigan?

geordieminx · 11/08/2010 18:41

Wrap you say.... hmm... I hadnt thought of that...

No to cardi unfortunately. Dress for wedding, cardi wouldnt work.

A halter neck maxi for a wedding? sounds very casual.

TrillianAstra · 11/08/2010 19:17

Depends a lot on the dress purplepeony. Did you come to the thread just to criticise the dress choice?

KristinaM · 11/08/2010 19:18

have you tried a different bra? or is it tight across the whole back not just the bust?

sorry i dont think you can lose back fat in 10 days Sad. its very persistent

could you get dress let out slightly? or wear something else?

is this the wedding in troon btw? hope weather improves

veryconfusedandupset · 11/08/2010 19:20

What about one of those wrap treatments where they swaddle you in rubber bandages or something and you have vast inch loss until you eat and drink again?

youngblowfish · 11/08/2010 19:28

I don't think you can get rid of it in 10 days :( but as suggested above you may lose a bit through crash dieting detox. But could you perhaps get away with wearing a decent control slip underneath? Whenever I have any tightness issues which cannot be sorted out in time, I resort to good underwear and enjoy looking slim for the evening :)

geordieminx · 11/08/2010 19:37

Purple... sorry I must have missed the bit in my OP where I asked for advice on whether my dress was appropriate... Hmm

FWIW this is the dress and I think it is perfectly acceptable for a 20 something to wear to the evening reception of a friends' wedding Hmm

Have booked a detox wrap at Purespa, and will continue with dieting, will be motivation if nothing else.

Have also sent dh up into the loft to get ab-cradle out Blush

Unfortunately its a bra-less dress so that wouldnt help...

I think its lovely Smile

wrap would work or bolero? even I'm not a cardi person either but some nice sheer bolero's out atm that may distract from the back but not the dress IYSWIM.

cybilliberty · 11/08/2010 19:47

geordie I think you can lose back fat in 10 days. Cut out bread butter sugar and all crap. Only eat when you are hungry, and mainly protein snacks like chicken or ham. Drink green tea. You will look fab.

purplepeony · 11/08/2010 19:50

If you had said it was for an evening reception/dance then i would not have made the comment. I thought you meant a traditional wedding in a church.

ThatVikRinA22 · 11/08/2010 19:52

i love the dress - i want to be tall/slim enough to wear one, which i aren't!

id go for a bit of a diet with a wrap just in case, that way you dont feel uncomfortable or self conscious.

bronze · 11/08/2010 19:55

its lovely
I think it would be fine for any sort of wedding

Grin I have no good advice either I came on because i wouldnt mind knowing either
Headbanger · 11/08/2010 20:01

When I have clothes that are just a wee bit too tight like literally ALL the fucking time I just wear them every day for an hour or so in the week beforehand - clothes always give a little with wear, with the fabric relaxing and the seams giving.

Recently I stretched a tight top by wandering around all morning with a cushion shoved up my front. Not until watering the balcony did I realise I looked like a maniac desperate to be pregnant Blush

I reckon a de-tox would work too...

geordieminx · 11/08/2010 21:08

Good idea headbanger...

If you wear it and stretch around a bit in it the fabric may well give a bit. Did this with my wedding dress and pinged one of the buttons off so go easy to avoid tears/ pings and the like!

For what its worth it doesn't sound underdressed for a wedding. It sounds lovely.
