Why do they have to be so boring? Mine have outgrown Boden stripes and camoflague. Any ideas for what comes next?.

What age are your Serin? Mine are 8 and 6 and I'm in exactly the same boat so I shall watch with interest!

I have gone down the classic barbour route, although they are not interesting in colour they are a bit different to the padded boring monstrosities that are around in the high street.

zara has some sweet vintage looking ones

Millie mine are 9 and 8, a bit too young for the JohnnieB range really, but too old for miniB.

Have looked at Debenhams,John Lewis,MandS etc and they are all as Eglu describes 'plastic monstrosities' Smile

Did find a gorgeous Icelandic/Finnish site but coats started at 249euros!!

I will have a look at Zara and Barbour now.

My 2 always get whatever decent waterproof coats I can find. Got 2 in the Mountain Warehouse sale, £12.99 each. They are pretty boring but my guys don't like anything too wacky - almost didn't get away with bright blue trim because "it's a girly shade of blue". Hmm

My wee boy also has a Gap handmedown jacket and luckily is quite a strong personality as he had other little angels in the playground telling him GAP stood for "Gay And Proud". I encouraged him to think of a retort and the next day he was able to reply it stood for "Go Away Poo-Face". Blush They didn't bother him again after that.

Landsend, not excitingly fashionable, but very weatherproof and do a lot of colours?
