Anyone got Fitflops?

If so, do you think they work?

I've got some. A bit more stylish than some of the designs in brown suede. They are very comfortable but do you think that they justify the £40/50 price tag? I think they are probably the most comfortable shoes I have worn for ages but not sure if they keep my butt trim. Some styles are so ugly too!

ive got some and i think not only they look ugly, but they ae also a waste of money,...

orienteerer · 08/08/2010 21:01

I love mine, sooo comfortable...........but don't do anything for my rear.

LIZS · 08/08/2010 21:03

Got soem a few weeks back. Pricey but comfy. Might buy kids size ones next time

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 08/08/2010 21:13

The kids ones seem very pricey as they won't get worn for very long at all.

I detest the between the toe thing. so was considering the strappy ones but do they look a bit geeky?

LIZS · 09/08/2010 08:33

I was thinking kids' ones for me ! Only size 4

ladybyron · 09/08/2010 14:55

I bought some fitflops 2 weeks ago and found the thong between the toes so incredibly stiff and uncomfortable that in no time I got 2 painful blisters. Not ventured back into them yet.Hmm

moondog · 09/08/2010 14:55

Got, steer clear. Minging.

iwilldothis · 09/08/2010 15:18

ladybyron, just persevere....that happened me first time I wore mine but they soon softened down....I've worn mine all summer, soooo comfy.

PosieParker · 09/08/2010 15:21

I get mine half price!! And they do work, I have a friend who has worn them a long time and she swears they work.

LIZS · 09/08/2010 15:30

Mine felt odd at first, not used to toe posts, but am a convert 3ish weeks on !

BadPoet · 09/08/2010 15:33

I've got the strappy ones in bronze. Maybe a bit geeky but I am a bit of a geek and as others have said they are SO comfortable I don't care. In fact I am considering getting either the Mukluk boots or the new trainers so I can walk on clouds in the autumn/winter as well (would in a minute if they weren't so pricey. It is my birthday soon though.)

No idea whether they are any good for legs/bum, mine are a bit more toned but I've also been exercising more.

TrillianAstra · 09/08/2010 15:33

I don't think they do much really, but I find mine comfy and they encourage me to go for a walk.

Din't see what all the fuss is about with the toe post. Yes, they have a toe post, like flip-flops, you saw it was there when you bought them, what exactly are you complaining about?

(I have the suadey ones to mine is actually v soft anyway)

edwardcullensotherwoman · 09/08/2010 15:39

I've seen loads of people in the Avon ones recently, my mum has had then for 2months and swears she can feel them working. I'm tempted this month, but they're £15 on the Avon catalogue. Where do you get the £40/£50 ones?? That's scandalous for a pair of flip flops! (Says she who spent £130 on Manolos for her wedding Blush)

meerkate · 09/08/2010 17:19

have had to give up on my beloved bronze electra ones after a month or so. just could not hack the toe post!! trillian - i did indeed know about the toe post when i got them, obv, but what i didn't know is that my toes were going to be so pathetic and weedy and...anti-toe-post. and sort of collapse constantly into sore red bits and blisters. sigh. i am just not cut out for fitflops - and yet i LOVE the sole, i find them so comfortable (if strapped up first in multiple layers of elastoplast first)!

hobbittoes · 09/08/2010 17:26

I had to take mine back as they nearly sawed my feet in two at the toe post after 2 minutes!

ShinyAndNew · 09/08/2010 17:28

I'm in love with mine. I rarely take them off. They are very comfy. Don't think they do much for toning though.

poshsinglemum · 09/08/2010 18:35

I've had no problems with the toe post whatsoever; but then I'm a hardened flip flop wearer.

Agree with those who find them incredibly comfortable without noticing any great toning effect.

Have problems with toeposts due to inexplicably sensitive/ weedy toes. So really got into Fitflops via last winter's boots. Had a pair of Mukluks and then treated myself to the Anna Sui special edition studded ones on Net a Porter and loved them so much I wore them constantly through all the cold months. Did feel some aches and pains on adjusting to 'normal' thin-soled shoes in spring, so perhaps they do do some good to posture etc.

When I saw the bronze Roma non toe-post sandals online I, like BadPoet, decided to go with my inner geek and get them. Can honestly say, having worn them most days on a recent trip to Italy, that they were fabulously comfortable - plus thick sole cushioned cobbles in Rome, etc. for serious sightseeing.

Latest purchase are the new Riatas - look a lot less clumpy, and am hoping strap at back will help with toe-post problems.

orienteerer · 09/08/2010 20:07

I was very sensitive to the toe posts for the first 1-2 weeks but please do persevere, it's worth it as they are very comfortable (however skin by my big toe now seriously hardGrin).

LauraNorder · 09/08/2010 20:09

I bought some as I was suffering with planters fasciitus - from wearing Birkenstocks all the time, it worked! Smile Not sure they have toned my legs though Sad

chocolateme · 14/08/2010 21:38

you can get sparkly ones on Amazon for £28ish atm

katiepotatie · 14/08/2010 21:45

I love mine, I have 4 pairs! Might get the moon boots for winter Grin

onimolap · 14/08/2010 21:47

The Avon ones have sold out. Rats!

Didn't this sort of footwear get Gokked a couple of weeks ago. Fitflops and MBTs both got positive toning up comments, another barefoot brand got big comfort thumbs up (but no comment on toning) and the 4th brand didn't seem to do anything at all).

I wish the Fitflop Fringe had been around for a bit longer, and that they did styles, other than the sparkly ones, without a huge brand name in the middle of your foot.

Raejj · 14/08/2010 21:51

I love mine - but must say apart from making me an inch taller they seem just like every other pair of flip-flops! Can't say I've noticed any kind of toning effect. Choose your style carefully - some look cool, some look frankly hideous.
