I need an outfit for 15mo DS for a wedding - where to look?

It's my brother's wedding in 4 weeks and I haven't got 15mo DS an outfit yet. Would like smart shirt and trousers perhaps with co-ordinating waistcoat.

I've browsed a few websites but not found anything. Any ideas?

TIA!

Jojomamanbebe - nehru type shirt and stripy short trousers. Got that for DS1 couple of years ago at similar age and he looked great - and v comfortable in it. If your DS wouldnt normally wear a waistcoat dont bother with it.

BHS maybe? Leeds market usually have some stalls with trousers waistcoat shirt biw tie/tie for about £20 or can you try local markets near to you

essenceofSES · 08/08/2010 20:31

dinkystinky - you're probably right about not putting him in a waistcoat, especially as (hopefully!) it may be a warm day. I just wanted to find something a bit more special than what he normally wears!

soremummy - I've not looked at BHS so will do. Unfortunately a couple of hundred miles away from Leeds and our local market doesn't seem to have any kids clothes.

I really don't like formal clothing on such small children (also have a son of 14 months), but it's not really any of my business Wink

Trousers, shirt & waistcoat set - black/white/grey combo

trousers, shirt & waistcoat set - all white

- also set - beige/white combo

I'd be more inclined to go for this if it HAS to be formal

Given free choice I'd go with some lovely dungarees and a collarless tshirt / longleeve.

There's lots on ebay too. I guess kids smart clothes don't get that much wear so they're in good condition.

essenceofSES · 08/08/2010 20:48

Thanks - I normally avoid eBay but this might be a good occassion to have a look!

I'd probably be happy with a nice dungarees set but he has a few already as I like dungarees on little boys :)

I'll keep looking - thanks for the input, it's helping me to think about what I'd really like for him and what would be practical!

Again, not quite my bag, but how about these with this?

lucykate · 08/08/2010 20:49

ebay, i got a monsoon dress for dd, £5, and a 3 piece beige linen suit for ds, £12 (was brand new, still had tags on) when my brother got married, really not worth spending full price on something they will only wear the once.

MrClaypole · 08/08/2010 21:00

M&S had some lovely formal boy's wear when I was in town today.

I got a lovely set from Vertbaubet for my boys this year - no waistcoat but a white linen shirt with nehru collar and grey stripy long shorts. They are 3 nad 18 months and they looked adorable. It was in the sale, but was similar to this minus the braces.

Debenhams do the more formal stuff I think, ie wiastcoat etc - try here

IsItMeOr · 08/08/2010 21:14

Another vote for JoJo. DS had the nehru shirt for his naming day ceremony at 13mo, with a nice pair of beige corduroy trousers.

He is also known to my NCT friends for his dungaree wearing Grin.

Have to say he hasn't worn the shirt again yet, as who has time to iron baby clothes?

What about a tank top with shirt and trousers? Much more informal (and comfortable) than waistcoat. I got lovely matching tank tops and shirts for my boys (then 18mo and 4 1/2) at Pumpkin Patch and I think they wore smart jeans with them, both were v.comfy and smart. Next/JoJo probably do similar. Tank tops also great over a plain t-shirt so will definitely be reused!

Monsoon and Boots (minimode) always quite cute and retro/old fashioned.

Just in case anyone is interested, I finally ordered something!
these together with the plain pale blue from this set

I decided smart dungarees would be the way to go - much more practical and what he's used to :)
