The ultimate dress...

Can you help me? I don't generally buy designer clothes but need a 'wow' dress that has to be elegant. Budget of around £1000.

I had a look on the Selfridges website, and like this -

www.selfridges.com/en/Womenswear/Categories/Dresses/Evening/Knot-detail-shift-dress_159-78064228-DEO RA50183157/

but it's out of stock. And it's nice, but not 'wow'. But it gives an idea of the tone I'm going for - is needed for a work do, professional but glam.

Am a size 10, not very booby and don't suit strapless at all. And needs to be knee-length or close to it.

I am in squinty eyed dress lust.....

Will have to go somewhere and calm down.

(And remind myself that a. I have loads of dresses and b. I have loads of dresses I have only worn once.)

I. do. not. need. another.dress.

Oh, and OP - I am sure you will look gorgeous Grin

Thanks all. We were out yesterday evening so didn't get a chance to check back.

Sweetheart, I liked all of the dresses. I'm quite tempted to go for the D&G one as a my winter evening dress - could justify a pair of Choogirl's suggested shoes too, as they'll go with 'the' dress too. I loved the Fendi, as well.

I am starting to think, looking at the Calvin Klein and Antonio Berardi, that those sorts of dresses are quite good purchases, as they'd do for work. Similar to what I'd spend on a suit but gorgeous.

This is a fun thread, I'm glad others like it Smile
