Confession time.
I am a victim of hairdressing.
I have naturally mousey mid length hair( all roughly the same length) so have been forking out fortunes for years for highlights.
I do feel better when hair is brighter, it gives me a boost.

I have also been having layers which are supposed to give "movement" to my hair but in reality, I'm not convinced.

Also since having DC1 my hair has got a sort of wave to it.

I don't have much -time,-- energy or inclination to spend hours styling of a morning, so I think I need a CUT that will help this. Am I right?

Do I need some kind of fringe?
What else can I do?

Would it be OK if I sat here & listened please?

Sanesometimes1 · 05/08/2010 19:40

Hi, don't think you can go wrong with a bob !,wash and quick blow dry in the morning - or jazz up for nights out - bobs can have classic fringes or keep it long and same length - loads of variety in the style but all same principle - just google bob haircuts and see what will suit your face shape.

traceybath · 05/08/2010 19:42

I've got similar hair and have a choppy bob with sideswept fringe.

Shampoo it each morning, spray on leave-in conditioner - quick blast with hair drier and then once over with the straighteners.

Tracey you big glamourpuss - excellent link, but what does it do at the back of the head? Is it cut v short, or the same length as the front hair?

traceybath · 05/08/2010 20:09

Its very slightly shorter at the back - I think.

champagnesupernova · 05/08/2010 20:12

Ooh I love that tracey!
but is fringe annoying? - can you clip it out of the way??

Fringe isn't annoying at all as sweeps across so isn't in my eyes really.

Must say - am not all as glam as that photo but similar type thing.

I hate doing anything with my hair - so go to a good hairdressers and ask for an appointment with the most experienced person they have available
so far haven't been dissapointed in RUSH, for about £60-70 they come up with a good idea

I always say - I don't have time or desire to use hairdryer in the morning
I want my hair to dry and stay nice and look interesting

I have thin mousy hair, don't do highlights but since there's good haircut and I can add this product
SEA SALT SPRAY
it makes my hair slightliy wavy

but first I put a small drop of
Tigi Bed Head Hair Care, Thicken & Volume to add volume on top of my head

both last forever and don't make my hair sticky or heavy

both were recommended to me by a very senior stylist at RUSH who had very similae hair to me

My hair is medium thickness - thicker since I had DC.

I hate long fringes and sweeping ones, purely because they get in my eyes and never go where they are supposed to. Straight fringes sort of between eyebrows and eyes IFKWIM are great as they make you look like you have a hair 'style' and provided they are trimmed regularly don't go in your eyes. I'm seriously considering getting mine cut back in once the baby arrives, but you need to talk to a good hairdresser to get the right one.

MassiveBumperlicious · 05/08/2010 22:14

I find the shorter my hair is the more I have to do to it. When it is long I can just wash and go, but it just sort of hangs and isn't very interesting. When it's short I have to Do Something to it, and I have never quite grasped what beyond a 90's turned under bob look.

Love Tracey's link!

Have had a fringe a few times then grown it out. Can never decide what I like best, I think for me it's the change that makes a difference but then I quickly get bored. I just wish I knew more about what to DO with my hair.
