Is this inappropriate for a wedding (evening) reception?

bought this possibly for friends wedding at country hotel (night time only) but having a bit of a confidence crisis - esp since bridesmaids are wearing silver - is it too bridal/bridemaidy.

Would probably style as in the pic - brown beads and sandals?

Not too bridal/bridesmidey. Possibly a bit summery. It's freezing here.

minibmw2010 · 02/08/2010 21:35

No, it's lovely for an evening reception. It's quite clearly a maxi dress, not a bridal dress and there's loads of colour in it.

LadySanders · 02/08/2010 21:38

ooh, its beautiful

geordieminx · 02/08/2010 21:40

Lynette - wedding is on the west coast of scotland - right on the beach, but I am a hard northerner, it's fine.

It's lovely, not bridey at all especially with the brown accessories.

geordieminx · 02/08/2010 21:48

thinking high brown sandals I am a shortarse, and either a necklace or wooden bangles as I have chin length hair?

geordie it's lovely, not bridal in the slightest. High brown sandals good - wooden heel?? I'd leave out the necklace and just go for the bangles. Do you have/ will you need a wrap?

KristinaM · 02/08/2010 22:07

v nice geordie

are they really having the evening reception on the beach? in that case you need to accessorise with this

geordieminx · 02/08/2010 22:07

Thanks Mrs.

Was thinking about shoe like this although perhaps a bit darker.

Think you right re no necklace.

Dont think I will need a wrap - I'm a hard as nails geordie remember. Its in a lovely hotel with gardens so mostly inside.

oh excellent - just nearby. vair posh

geordieminx · 02/08/2010 22:15

Hoping the weather will pick up and we'll be able to sit out on the lawn drinking champagne, as opposed to huddling inside drinking hot chocolate

Food is supposed to be fab - esp sunday dinner.

Lovely and just perfect for an evening wedding. I'd go for a wrap as well though, if you're hoping to be outside drinking champagne - it's pretty chilly up this way these evenings (says me, a hard Scots girl!!)

KristinaM · 02/08/2010 22:25

thanks for the tip

KristinaM · 02/08/2010 22:26
