Hello,

I bought lots and lots of lovely clothes reduced in the phase eight sale for my big return to work after having DS.

all of them say dry clean only

some of them are silk, some wool, some a mix, so yes, i get why they say it.

of the silk some is shiny silk, some is that sort of velevty feeling silk

one dress is 75% cotton, 25% elastane

so, the question is, as they were all massivly reduced, do i spend half of what each item cost getting them dry cleaned or do i risk a gentle handwash cycle with special detergent (i have some of this)?

i live in the middle of nowhere with only 1 dry cleaner nearby and it's spensive

I never dryclean and always use the handwash cycle on the machine for dry clean items. So far so good.

I have a phase eight dress that is cotton/elastine and it has washed fine.

Yeap - agree with apple.

Woollite and hand wash cycle and flat drying if necessary.

cool, that's what i wanted to hear, think i'll risk it

thanks

I always wash them by hand in the sink. So far, only one expensive disaster in many, many years
