I know, I know, but can you recommend one that kinda works?

I have heard goodish reports from Nivea's Q10 should I give it a try?

I do loads of exercise, and eat a very healthy diet, but am getting old would really like the inner thighs of my DDs really

I like Bio oil. Not quite what you're asking for, but I'm getting old too, and my skin is losing its texture, and I find this leaves it lovely and soft and much smoother after I've used it.

I can tell you what NOT to go for, and that's Dove's Pro Age body lotion in the maroon bottle. It leaves that ugh sticky film on your skin that never goes away - I put it on in the morning and was irritated all day. Ended up having a bath at 5pm just to get rid of it.

Boots No7 Protect & Perfect serum seems better? Have been using it for a few days to try to combat the beginnings of crepiness on my chest (sob) and my skin does feel softer. And it's half price at the moment.

Have also heard good things about Palmer's cocoa butter.

I like PhytaOil. Similar to Bio Oil (so again perhaps not exactly what you're looking for) but much nicer - all natural rather than petrochemical based, smells nice, contains rosehip extracts and vitamin E so helps photo aged skin etc. And it leaves my skin feeling lovely. It also comes in a lotion if you prefer that. In fact you can try both for free at the moment as they are offering free samples

Hey thanks for your replies women

I will continue with exercise not lose anymore weight, and perhaps try Boots no7.

I've been using that Q10 stuff and it's nice. I changed from the boots one because it always seemed to get used up so quickly - I think it's perhaps thicker?. The Q10 one absorbs quicker which means I use it more often than I did the boots version. It also smells quite pleasant. Can't say it's firmed my skin, but it's definitely not as dry as it was last summer

Over the years I've tried all sorts of high end/low end products for my dry ageing skin and have come to the conclusion that Palmers Cocoa Butter is by far the best. Bit on the smelly side of life - but the most effective and value for money.

Emz8 · 07/09/2010 12:22

Hey there - I wouldn't use Bio Oil in a million years - it's a petrochemical (mineral oil) and is just a synthetic oil blend. Q10 is better than Bio Oil but PhytaOil has my vote any day of the week. It smells nice and is natural. Like LadyN I've tried just about everything on the market and I agree that not all expensive products work.

i love cocoa butter ladyn makes your skin really soft.

i dont see how a cream can make your skin "firmer" though tbh. although i once read that using a body scrub can help firm the skin (dunno how Confused )

sorry, not that helpful really :o
