Is a pre holiday spray tan a good idea?

Go on holiday next week and the realization of having to strip off on the beach has just hit me [sob!]

Chances of me losing 3 stone before hand are slim so figured a spay tan may be the answer.

Has anyone had one? Doea the sea/ sand etc make it go patchy?

Any advice would be great.

Thanks so much.

Watching with interest because I've booked in for one just before my holiday. At the moment, I'm all sorts of different shades from very white (stomach), to really quite tanned (arms). I'm hoping it'll even me out a bit.

It's a good idea. Just bear in mind that you may come home paler than you arrived!

Be sure you exfoliate well prior to being sprayed, with special attention paid to ankles, knees, wrists and underarms.

Also, just because you're brown don't forget to use lots of sunscreen.

I did this once before a holiday, but the spray had some weird reaction with the sun tan lotion I used and went totally blotchy. Not a good look. Actually thinking about it, it was a rub in tan (from a beauty salon though, with defoliation before).

It's great - i do it every time

YYY every time.

It's great, but it will start to fade by about day 5, so unless you can top it up in a salon while away you might end your holiday paler than you started it!

Ooooh, thanks for the replies.

Not too worried about coming home paler than I went if it makes those first few days of the holiday less traumatic!

Just really worried incase it goes patchy whilst I'm away and end up looking even worse than I do now!

Which one have you guys tried?

Or should I learn to use a spray tan such as fake bake then I can top up whilst I'm away?

Thanks again
