Face masks and facial toner/moisturiser

Do you have any favourite masks? Or toner? Or moisturiser? That you could recommend me, my skin has been awful recently, and my wedding is coming up (fast!) so would like to not have to coat my face in concealer on the big day. Plus it'd be nice to pamper myself anyway.

Tell us more about your skin type? Dry, sensitive, prone to breakouts?

I'm a neal's yard home seller so can recommend some of their lovely organic chemical free products. I use them all myself and swear by them

It's usually normal, though recently it's become really greasy and spotty (for no apparent reason as far as I can tell)

I've heard Neal's Yard mentioned before, must go have a look

If you want something cheap and cheerful I recently bought Superdrug own brand mask, the deep cleansing one (there were 4 varieties) it was mostly kaolin etc same stuff as in more expensive masks, and it works well -- not organic obviously!

Neal's Yard have a lovely white tea enriching facial mask. It's clay based but suitable for sensitive skin. Defo my favourite.
We would also recommend the Lavender water as a toner if you are finding your skin greasy and spotty. It's pure Lavender essential oil with aloe vera and water. I use their Rose Water myself as I have dehydrated skin and love it so much - their toners are so gentle and refreshing on the skin.
I could send you a sample of the mask if you like with no obligation - I think I have one mini tube in my bag. Or if you're near a NY shop, you could ask for a sample there. With everyone I meet at parties who've never used the stuff before, I just say to try one or two items and see what you think. They incorporate well with any existing products you're using.

Sorry for the delay in replying....pesky kids prevented me logging in ALL day grrrr...

dingdong - i have never heard of neal's yard before, just had a look online.

I have normal type skin, I'm 25 but recently have been getting alot of spots, I hardly had any as a teenager, and my skin has been like this for months.

Can you suggest anything for my skin? Do they sell mini kits that you can use orginally to see if its good for your skin?

Also I like a light moisturiser and not too strong a cleanser as it drys out my skin.

I'm a real convert to Neal's Yard as I feel strongly about the amount of chemicals in cosmetics and also like that they are a family run, UK company. I don't use everything in their range but incorporate as much as I can afford. It mixes well with other skin care ranges.

newstart2010, your spots sound hormonal so you probably should look into taking some Evening Primrose supplements. Worth having a chat with someone in a health food shop. Other obvious things are lots of water and green veg

With regard to skin care, the white tea enriching mask is really good for breakouts I find but there's also a lovely skin gel called Clarifying Mahonia that has antibacterial properties and helps to encourage a clearer and fresher complexion. You would put a tiny amount on like a serum under your moisturiser.
(ATM, there's an offer that if you spend £25 on products, you can buy the Clarifying Mahonia gel for just £7 (normally £14.50). This is just through the home sellers as opposed to the shops)

Unfortunately, NY don't sell sample kits but home sellers like me and the stores can provide samples of some items. For instance, I could provide a sample of two of our cream cleansers - chamomile (for normal skin) and calendula (dry and sensitive). I love them both as I like a creamy cleanser. I take them off with a muslin cloth and warm water.

Moisturiser-wise, there's a lovely light one in the Rose range, which is for normal skin. It's a pump lotion - so not too heavy. I don't have any of it in my kit but I do have a sample of the Rose and Mallow which is creamier but does sink in well to leave the skin matt.

Happy to post through a couple of samples for you to try. All the home sellers have their own mini website then so if you want to buy anything from me, I can give you the address for that site but obviously no obligation at all. The samples cost very little for me.

Any more questions, please ask...I'm slow to reply as 3 DC's seem to have a radar to tell them when I log on! But I always check once a day x
