Bare Minerals concealor

monkeysmama · 29/07/2010 10:28

I'm a recent Bare Minerals convert and am now in love with the stuff. My only slight issue is with putting the concealor under my eyes. It seems to go into the fine lines & if I blend too much the skin gets sore. Is there a way of applying to make it as natural as the foundation etc. Have watched on line tutorials but not helpful on this.

ATM I love 'warmth' but it might be too dark for my winter skin. What are other good substitutes?

Tia

I think it can help if you use eye cream - and if you already do you might one to experiment with the one you use.

Are you using a BE concealer brush? I find sometimes that I get a better result using the foundation with the concealer brush vs. the bisque concealer itself. I don't use warmth either as it's too dark for me too. They do other colours in the same product but I haven't got round to ordering one either. Sorry, not much help!

I love Bare Minerals, but I stick to Touche Eclat for under eyes.

FellatioNelson · 30/07/2010 10:08

Hello Alouiseg !

I'm a bare minerals convert too - I love it. The trick with the warmth is to just use the tiniest tiniest bit. However little you think you need - use less. And go very lightly from cheek to cheek across the nose, down the nose, and then around the forehead and jawline and keep blending. I should just give your face a subtle contouring and warmth, not act as an all over bronzer - it's way too dark for that.

I agree about the touche eclat. The bare minerals powder is supposed to work as a concealer or colour corrector by putting it on a bit thicker in small areas, but I find it can look a bit cloggy as well, if your skin is on the dry side.

I love this product they have a special concealer brush which you dip and pat on to the area .

Alouiseg · 30/07/2010 16:06

It's a fair bit cheaper over here. I'll be stocking up

Monkeytoo · 30/07/2010 17:53

Are you in the States Alouiseg? I live in the US and am likely moving back to the UK soon, is it much more expensive in England so should I stock up before I leave here? I don't even know where to buy it in England, is it easy to get hold of there?

PowderMum · 30/07/2010 22:23

Monkey - in the UK it is roughly the same price in £ as you pay in $.
I was converted whilst in San Francisco a few years back.
At first I had to keep going back to the US for supplies (no problem DH travels for work). However it is much easier to get over here now, my local beauticians sell it, so do Selfridges in London, John Lewis have just added to their online store and various other online stores stock it like HQHair.

Alouiseg · 30/07/2010 23:19

Check out QVC too

monkeysmama · 05/08/2010 09:20

I've just ordered a few new bits from eBay.

Those of you who use Touche Eclat etc for under your eyes, do you apply before or after the foundation? I tried using my usual concealor yesterday and it looked a bit odd.

I love bare minerals but I stick to Touche Eclat or Benefit Stay Don't Stray concealer for under eyes.

monkeysmama · 05/08/2010 09:51

Do you apply under or over the face power/ foundation?

OP posts:
minibmw2010 · 05/08/2010 09:56

If its under eye then I just apply the concealer to clean moisturised skin. If its on the face itself I generally put it under face powder, but may need a touch up over it at some stage (if that makes sense).

monkeysmama · 05/08/2010 09:58

Will try that way round today. Thank you

Thanks for the info on US vs. English prices. Sorry for delay in replying, been offline for a few days..

monkeysmama · 08/08/2010 09:21

I just got some on eBay. Not that much cheaper than John Lewis but arrived next day and had a far wider range.
