OK if you have zero maintenance short hair...

...please tell me about it.

I have long hair, I hate it now. I want short hair. But with my long hair I can just wash it and go out, I don't do styling or any of that rubbish.

My experience of short hair (as a teenager) involved lots of gel and time in front of the mirror.

Don't say what the hairdresser says and say get up earlier to do hair. This will not work.

Oh and I want to still look like a female.

If you've got any doubt, and no reason why you should have, but just in case, could you consider doing it in two steps - a short, low maintenance curly bob, and then short short hair?

I get my thick, curly hair lopped every summer, and it is so so easy - just wash it at night and let it drip dry on a towel as I sleep, then mousse in the morning after shower, and hey presto! It's a bit like this

ooosabeauta · 29/07/2010 12:41

Oh, it's not like the bottom one on the link and there's a big no entry symbol where my hairstyle was. Maybe that's a sign!

abeautifulbutterfly · 29/07/2010 12:41

Oh, OK. ROFL

I have short hair (pic on profile), I feel much more me with short hair. I don't use any product, just wash it in the morning, and use leave in conditioner to make it shiny.

The only drawback is having to get it cut frequently.I used to clipper it myself when I was younger, but am too nervous to do it now.

I have a photo of Jean Seberg which I take into hairdressers - in the hope that one day I will have transformed into her!

ooosabeauta · 29/07/2010 14:06

oh do you know what ruby, I sat here trying to find another good flattering pic which was comparable to mine and then gave up, thinking 'who's going to care what my hair looks like?'. Now I know that you do I'll start looking again

ooosabeauta · 29/07/2010 14:14

rather like this and yes, of course my face looks like hers too

If that link doesn't work either I'm going to crawl away in shame.

I have very short hair, pic on profile. I don't know if it is feminine but it is very easy and I love it.

Mostly I just wet it in the morning (If I am not washing it) and that's it.

Yo do need to be slim and pretty otherwise can look a bit pat butcher!I love short hair but it has never suited me I am too busty!

teameric · 29/07/2010 22:55

at noddyholder, I sometimes think I'm only a dangly pair of earrings away from being a Pat Butcher as I am busty too, but short hair is so much easier.

Monkeytoo · 30/07/2010 05:01

I have short hair too - this is the most recent pic I took to the hairdresser.

Funny about the Pat Butcher thing, I'm always worried I'll look like Su Pollard!

I have mine all one length just above my shoulders.

Just wash & leave to dry.
Really easy.

tethersend · 01/08/2010 09:31

I like this but could never have short hair again. Someone else do it

teameric · 01/08/2010 18:13

thats pretty much what mine looks like at the mo, love it!

belly36 · 01/08/2010 21:34

Now this is weird. I used to have short hair as a teenager and I mentioned to my mum I wanted to get it done short short again.

Mum said "oh you used to look lovely with short hair, you looked like Mia Farrow"
