School Uniform - tights that last

Another school year, another chance to buy grey girls tights..... Mine always seem to

  1. Shrink in tumble dryer.
  2. End up round my daughter's knees.
  3. Get holes in crotch/toe within about 2 weeks.

Has anyone found tights that do none of the above!?

I don't think there are such tights available anywhere - and there is no guarantee that by paying more or going to a 'posher' shop the tights will be any better ...

My daughter has moaned like hell about the ones I bought from m&S, trying ASDA cheapies this next term or so ...

Sorry !!

Ha ha ha - no!

Buy trousers instead!

Beattiebow · 26/07/2010 19:05

not M&S that's for sure, but if you do end up there, buying a size up in there helps - my 5yo is in size 7-8 tights

doggiesayswoof · 26/07/2010 19:07

Next.

they are great.

tumble dry really well.

do not fall down.

I bought 6 pairs and still have 4 of them in a good enough state to re-use next year.

h&m

love em

found the M&S outstanding value ones good, their standard range tights are terrible! Also always buy a size bigger for my very average children.

blametheparents · 26/07/2010 19:17

My DD is 5 and in Age 7-8 tights in M&S too

M&S knee high grey socks are great and stay up really well, not really the answer to your question though!

SuzysZoo · 26/07/2010 19:31

Great - so it looks like Next or H & M so far. It was the M & S ones that I was mainly complaining about..... so not those although I don't think that they were the outstanding value ones. Any other votes for H & M or Next out there!?

I've found Next tights have lasted well, Ethel Austin have been ok too, Sainbury's ones have lasted the longest so far.

another vote for long grey socks

have previosuly had good recults with Gap cabled tights but they are ££ and usu only in cream and navy
