Is there a DIY way of removing a slight stain on my front tooth?

It's a tea&coffee stain (or maybe red wine...), small, surface only, and it's something I've had before.
In the past, my dentist just scrubs it with his whizzy brush and it's gone.
Is there anything I can get, say, at Boots to get rid of it? Would baking soda work (I swear I've read this somewhere but will wait until I get the go-ahead before trying it!!)

Anything to save a trip to the dentist and having to pay for, er, a quick scrub...

I think you can get dental kits in most shops that include a mirror, floss etc and a little scraper, so you could just scrape it off assuming it is a stain on top of plaque?

I am in no way qualified to tell you that though I have done it myself!

Try a bit of salt on your fingertip - it's slightly abrasive. When we were kids, my grandad used to get us to brush our teeth with salt!!! It was fun as a one-off but a bit worrying that he had dentures

An electric toothbrush and Elgydium toothpaste (in any good pharmacy or Boots).

rub a small amount of bicarbonate soda on the stain that usually does the trick. If you look at the whitening toothpastes they all usually contain bicarbonate soda.

Yet again I have to recommend Crest Whitening strips. Sorted out a slight stain on my tooth too. Cheap and they work.
