bought a MAC one and is horrible greasy consistency (and I normally adore all MAC stuff). Needs to suit olive/asian skin tone, not too sparkly either and ideally not mega expensive....

any ideas pls???

Oh oh - you won't like this - I just use pinkish lipstick rubbed sparingly on my fingers [hangs head]

WannabeMakeUpArtist · 21/07/2010 20:43

Bobbi Brown Sheer Cover Cheek Tint... in Sheer Raspberry - I've got olive skin and love it!

MooMinCow · 21/07/2010 20:59

lipstick??? suppose that would work too....

I did use a NARS one years ago but thought it was all sparkle and no colour iykwim...

I usually use powder but just wanted something for those days when i need to slap it on in a rush.

Is the bobbi brown one v. expensive? Don't really want to spend over a tenner on something that I won't be using daily!

Another vote for the Bobbi Browne Sheer Cheek Tint - it's about £17 but gives a lovely coverage- nice and natural.

chocolatefroggie · 21/07/2010 21:44

another vote for bobbi brown - expensive but lasts for ages so worth it!

Belle03 · 22/07/2010 11:20

Yep, i'd vote for Bobbi Brown as well, it is expensive but a tub lasts for ages. Ask the assistant to pick the best one for you- in my opinion, they always pick the perfect shade of product & know what they're talking about

KMR281 · 22/07/2010 12:19

why don't you get some Benetint? it's fab, not messy and lasts for bloody ages!

FindingMyMojo · 22/07/2010 12:28

I'm just about finishing one I brought from Clinique years ago. No sparkle, lasts for ages, creamy & easy on, stays put, great colour.

Specific product name has rubbed off though!

I've never been a fan of Clinique skincare but I do LOVE their makeup.

Sparkletastic · 22/07/2010 12:31

Bobbi Brown voter here! Calypso Coral is fab - basically looks orange in pot (no glittery stuff) but really fab on skin.

GetOrfMoiLand · 22/07/2010 12:34

Tesco Make up cream blush. £4 and briliant. Comes in three colours, and the consistency is a powdery cream. The best cream blush I have tried (and I have tried a few).

Don't bother with the Maybelline cream blush, it pills on your face. Ditto the Estee Lauder one.

traceybath · 22/07/2010 12:36

Bobbi Browns pot au rouge - lovely colours and stays on all day.

MooMinCow · 22/07/2010 12:47

Wow the BB seems a fave... Findingmymojo - I had a Clinique one I loved in a small compact too - maybe the same one? Lovely cream to powder finish but they discontinued it!

Will investigate the Tesco one as so cheap - thanks Getorfmoiland...

Has anyone tried the No7 one or the Ruby and millie ones (the ones that look like deo sticks) Thought next time I get those £5 off vouchers from Boots I could actually use one!

OP posts:
GetOrfMoiLand · 22/07/2010 12:50

The No 7 one which looks like a fat lipstick is crap.

MooMinCow · 22/07/2010 12:53

I saw 2 on the No7 counter yesterday that were in a small compact... one peachy colour the other pink/berry. Didn't see the stick ones but will avoid if rubbish consistency!

Another vote for BB from me.
Pale pink (sounds strange) is quite bright and might suit.

I recently bought an M&S Autograph one in coral (not coral colour at all) which is pretty good too.

purplepeony · 23/07/2010 08:32

I have just bought BB pot rouge, mainly as it's easy to carry to touch up, instead ofpowder blusher, and can double as lippie in an emergency. I bought Cabo Coral. You need to go to BB and try shades out- if you are olive then one of the darker pinky browns might suit you best.

I also have clinique cream blusher stick in Aglow, but it's much more pink than peach though looks peach before you use it. It doesn't last long on skin IMO.

MooMinCow · 23/07/2010 13:36

Tried the Tesco one Getorf but looked too pale on my skin...

BUT

just seen these Topshop ones and they look lush!

Anyone tried them

OP posts:
Celery · 23/07/2010 13:40

The TopShop ones are really good. The only thing in the TopShop make up range that I really rate, but definately worth a look.

MooMinCow · 23/07/2010 13:46

Which colour have you got Celery - I was thinking the Flush or Pinch?

Do they only stock it at the Oxford St branch?

OP posts:
AlaskaNebraska · 23/07/2010 13:47

POT ROUGE
bobbi brown

Celery · 23/07/2010 14:54

I have the TopShop blush in neon rose and flush. Both nice - the neon rose looks scary in the pot, but blends really well. The flush is great too. It's a cream to powder consistancy.

Not sure where it's sold - I know the Isle of Wight branch doesn't stock it, but that's not saying much, as the island is several decades behind the mainland. I bought it online.
