Purple closed toe wedges

Am in desperate need for work; am now wearing a uniform (hospital) purple tunic top and cannot bear black trousers/ black shoe combo. Always end up looking like school shoes.

Would love a pair of purple wedges (comfy-looking ones if possible as will be on feet a lot) but they need to have a closed toe.

Anyone spotted any?

Do they have to be a wedge?

here

or

these

these have a wedge but maybe are more mauve here

PlumSykes · 18/07/2010 19:23

La Redoute have these high ones and these almost flat ones.

duckyfuzz · 18/07/2010 19:30

not wedges but nice - and bargainous too, if you're the right size!

Ooooh lovely ideas, thank you! I think colour wise sequinbra's Red Herring pumps are the nearest to my tunic and are quite lovely, but tethersend's 2nd pair of Flys are probably the ones I can most see myself wearing as they are purple yet practical.

I guess they don't have to be wedges but I am quite short and so any bit of extra height is always a good thing

I will check my size in the pumps, no reason why I can't have two pairs, is there?

Are you allowed to wear coloured shoes if you work in a hospital? We have to wear black shoes as per the uniform policy, worth checking before buying (apologies if you have!). I have just bought the first pair of the Red Herring pumps and they are lovely

i have a different pair of Fly purple wedges and they are VERY COMFORTABLE, even with long days standing / walking.

Whoamireally · 18/07/2010 20:24

Maize, that's a good point, it's all a bit complicated, but to cut a long story short there is no requirement on our particular role to wear uniform but we are doing so 'cause we wanted one and have bought them ourselves! also since we are not strictly speaking employed by the hospital but instead by a community service providing some sessions ward cover we don't have to follow hospital uniform rules as a different Trust, although we have to follow the same infection control procedures - bare below the elbow, hair tied back etc. Although I suspect at some point they'll create one!

Kristina - do you have a link please?

I would say probably that these are exactly what I'm looking for only they don't come in purple...I could wear those without tights when it's hot.

Fellow petite wedge fans - did one of you buy these today?

these were in my basket for a week while I was thinking and now they are gone. damn

KristinaM · 18/07/2010 21:14

sorry cant find them, they were last years. they are similar to the yaz ones linked to before but with a velcro strap

Whoamireally · 19/07/2010 13:53

I have just found these on Ebay which are possibly exactly what I was hoping for - but they are 2nd hand and £50!! And you know that if they say they've worn them once really that means half a dozen times. I could cry. I love them but I'm not paying £50 when I could get a brand new pair for that

If you could fit a 5, there are some new ones here

tethersend · 19/07/2010 15:45

Says pink but looks purple

Whoamireally · 19/07/2010 19:14

Thanks tethersend, the Schuh Flys are I think the pink ones if you look at them side by side. Maybe if I chop off my big toe I'll get into a 5

I like the way the wedge is the same colour as the shoe on these ones
