Bristol based ladies - come give me your Style & Beauty tips

My new job is going to mean staying in Bristol for a few days every fortnight. While I don't relish the idea of being away from the DC's so often (although the uninterrupted sleeps will be nice) I'm going to try and use my free time there get a little 'me' time.

So ladies who know Bristol give me the lowdown on your shops, beauticians and hairdressers. I need places which open late (7/8pm) and I'll be staying down near the waterfront, near Canons Way without a car so bus/short taxi ride is best. Would be good to hear what high street shops you have as well as any independent stores. Where is the 'centre' of town? Any big shopping centres? Also, does anyone have any recommendations for a 'mobile' beauty therapist who will come and do treatments in your hotel room?

Thanks

There is a centre in terms of shopping - broadmead/cabot circus. There is also a big shopping centre called cribbs causeway but it is out of town so you need a car to go there - it is open until about 9 or 10 at night though. That is also where John Lewis is unfortunately, I find that a bit of a pita.

In terms of shops:

Harvey Nicks, most of the high street stores are represented I'm trying to think of notable exceptions - Russell and Bromley is in Bath, there isn't a uniqlo. Shops I like: Urban outfitters, topshop, h&m, american apparel, all saints, reiss.

Independent shops - some on Park st. on the way up to university but not open late. Also, quite a few boutiques etc. in Clifton.
