Help! Drinks, dinner and dancing - what to wear??

I need an outfit to go out for the night with my friend and a group of her friends. I haven't been out to a club in about 3 years and I don't know all the women so I'm really nervous.

I'm still carrying a bit of weight around my tummy, have big boobs and normally wear jeans/trousers as I feel more comfortable. I'm about a 16 on top and 14 on bottom.

Help!

What sort of budget? I recently posted in a thread about a lovely Whistles dress which I think is quite funky and very flattering. I'll link if it's not too expensive (think it was £120)

Thanks, yes please do link - I can always wear it again!! Funky and flattering is what I am after!!

Cheers!!

Marking my place and waiting with baited breath...

littledawley · 14/07/2010 19:19

it won't let me link to the specific dress but it's under 'day dresses' and is called animal bouquet - looks very orange but is in fact coral on grey. Another poster has the black and white 'swallow print dress' and reported that she looked and felt fab in it!! here

SprogletCooking · 14/07/2010 19:27

Thanks for the link littledawley, sadly the size 16's are out of stock... Argh!!

It's just not fair, the boobs men I have to wear a (very supportive and not sexy) bra and everywhere I look it is strapless or really thin strapped cami tops...

Any one else suggest anything??

If you do like it, I would try the 14 - I am a 34ff and it fits really well as you can wear a full bra. (I have a fairly sizable arse too!) Might be worth ordering one then sending it back if it doesn't fit.

littledawley · 14/07/2010 19:44

this thread might help.

SprogletCooking · 14/07/2010 20:09

Thanks again littledawley!

I'll check out the thread and see what other options are raised before risking a 14 (i'm a 34H and 14's generally don't fit).

too dressy?

AngryPixie · 14/07/2010 20:27

??

Really need more info, how tall are you? Which colours do you prefer? What type of dancing?

AngryPixie · 14/07/2010 20:29

quite like this myself!

SprogletCooking · 14/07/2010 20:45

Right I'm about 5'4" with short dark blond hair and I am 33!

As far as I know it's going to be cheesy tunes from the 70's to the 00's!! And I am really looking forward to a boogy!!

I feel most comfortable wearing jeans and tops but do also wear the odd dress (normally over leggings or skinny jeans) and I dont generally wear heels as I walk like Barbara Windsor in them!!

Argh why do I find this so hard!
