Is giving up nicotine meant to be this easy?

Gave up smoking a year ago by vaping. Amazing difference but it was definitely still affecting my lungs. I was getting through an elf bar a day which was a) costing me a fortune, and b) potentially up to 40 cigs a day worth of nicotine! Tried giving up cold turkey 3 times and failed miserably every time after 3 days. Literally felt like I was going insane. I've just discovered nicotinell nicotine patches, thought I'd give it a go, and here I am 3 days later, haven't had a craving since day 1. Is it meant to be this easy or should I expect it to get hard again? I'm not even thinking about nicotine. Pretty chuffed!

Also just realised my title is incredibly misleading as I obviously still have nicotine in my system, I meant vaping, not nicotine!

I found patches the easiest way to stop smoking as it broke the habit of going out for a cigarette at certain times. No more after a coffee smoke or a lunch break smoke. But your body could also slowly withdraw from the nicotine.

It's probably different for everyone but breaking the routine was the best way for me to stop.

Just don't ever sleep with one on!!

I've been sleeping with them on and have had the most insane dreams, but that's a bonus for me as I get a huge thrill out of vivid dreams (as long as they're not bad ones!). But other than that my sleep has been fine.

I’m currently using patches and haven’t smoked for over 2 weeks. I decided against vaping and am feeling perfectly fine. But I think I’ve also changed my mindset about smoking and focusing on the things I hate about it which helps! My skin already looks better and I’m more active but I’ve quit for over 10 years before so not being complacent. Hope you’re still getting on ok!

Which strength patches are you using OP? I'm currently vaping 6mg (all day every day 🫤) but I tried patches before (highest strength) and almost fainted - think they were way too strong for me
Well done
