Need help with buying a vape

Hi, I want to try and give up smoking again. I've used a vape once before but it was a cheap one and hurt my throat. Didn't last with it for long. The past few months my smoking has gone worse and I'm having about 20 a day. I want to buy a really good ecig that will help me quit with a nice flavour that doesn't hurt my throat. I've seen loads online but I don't know where to begin. They seem to be a lot cheaper online but then you haven't got the help of a person in a shop to chose what's best. Could anyone help me in picking a good buy that's not too expensive and a nice flavour? Thanks

Also, what's the delivery like on onepoundeliquid? Thanks for the advice everyone, you've been really helpful

I quite like eliquid 4 a quid too, it's a branch off from triphammer that does great liquids
I started on 18mg and now down to 10mg (smoked 30 a day)
Am 18 months off the cigs, and use a triton mini tank plus eleaf ipower battery

Polter · 02/11/2017 19:09

Couple of days usually. If you ordered now it would probably arrive Monday.

I think those of us who've switched to vaping successfully can be a little evangelical! I loved smoking but vaping is better. It did require some willpower at the beginnng as nicotine isn't the only addictive substance in tobacco, and you can still get some of the physiological side effects you get when you stop smoking (people often mistake these for vaping not working so do look up a timeline of what happens when you stop smoking, eg possibly coughing and bleeding gums). I remember still having fag cravings at the beginning but I just kept vaping through them. Having said that my dp switched just like that and had no cravings or side effects at all.

I've just had a look and everything I clicked on was sold out. Maybe I'm on the wrong site lol. I'll just buy some in-store so I can start using it Sunday. The pockex won't be here till lunch time Saturday. My sister had no problems switching to vape but she's always had a lot of will power. Me on the other hand struggle with anything like this but I'm hoping this time I'll do it. Your all very inspiring and I know if other heavy smokers can stop I can too. And much easier with a vape I'd imagine but I know it'll still be hard

My tips are loads of water and warm drinks. Pick a day when you're at home so you can vape constantly if you need to. Use it as much as you like, I spent 24hrs with it attached to my face
My thoughts after that were "I've done 24hrs, I can't smoke now!)

Jins · 02/11/2017 19:33

I like rejuiced as well. Some good flavours and there's always one at half price.

Tuttytoffee · 02/11/2017 19:36

Yes I'm going to start on Sunday when I'll be home most of the day apart from maybe going to see the fireworks. I think I'll be ok, it's just the 1st Initial one that I have as soon as I'm up that is going to be difficult but I already expect that so I just need to puff away on the vape and try my best. Last time I tired the vape a cheap one, I always had to have a proper cig as soon as I woke and then used that throughout the day. Then I started using it to smoke less and then stopped it altogether. If I want to do it properly this time i need to not touch a cig at all.

Oh I've just ordered a few different liquids. Some of their best sellers (rejuiced) one pound liquids were all sold out. I was going to get their sample kit. Maybe see how I go 1st

I bought the Innokin Endura T18 and haven't had a cigarette since (15 months or so). I smoked for 30 years. I buy the £1 Vape88 juice from Poundland or Home Bargains or wherever, seem to have settled with sweet strawberry. I have tried lots of others but tend to go back to that one. Easiest thing I ever did! Good luck!

Polter · 02/11/2017 20:27

Don't worry if you spend some time vaping and smoking while you get to grips with it, remember to count the fags you don't smoke, not the ones you do!

Tuttytoffee · 02/11/2017 20:53

Thanks the formidable, my mum buys them out of home bargains too. She hasn't smoked for years tho and started vaping as a stress release so just buys mint flavour.

Poulter, I know I won't be hard on myself as I know how tough it can be but I will try and not have a cig. No point in going into this half hearted. Once I get going if I do well I'll treat myself to a really good kitSmile

Well my pockex came and silly me pressed and held the button before I'd put liquid in and it started smoking. I could see burn on the coil a little bit. I but some liquid In and left it a while and tried it and it tasted like something burnt. I've changed the coil and I can still taste burn and no flavour hardly. Also tastes like I've chewed a nicotine gum but I think that's coz it's 18mg Sad hope I haven't broke it

OP posts:
Ollivander84 · 04/11/2017 18:59

Ok don't worry Smile can you adjust the wattage?
I would be tempted to empty out the liquid in case the burnt taste has tainted it and use new stuff if you have enough

Ollivander84 · 04/11/2017 18:59

Oh and have you turned it to shut (I don't know how that model works!) once filled up
If I vape with mine to fill rather than vape mode it tastes awful

Tuttytoffee · 04/11/2017 19:02

It doesn't have anything like that it's just like a standard pen one. I have tipped the liquid out and put a different flavour in but it's still the same but not as bad. Maybe it could be the 1st flavour that tastes funny (rhubarb and custard)

OP posts:
Tuttytoffee · 04/11/2017 19:08

My oh said he can smell caramel burn whatever that is lol. It does taste a lot better but still a bit burnt and not much flavour

OP posts:
Ollivander84 · 04/11/2017 19:13

@Polter may be able to help more Smile

Tuttytoffee · 04/11/2017 19:19

Thanks for your help. Hopefully it's just a lasting taste off me being silly and burning the 1st coil out.

Some flavours and juices work better with particular set ups. Did you give it at least 10 minutes to wick before vaping? New coils can take a few hours to lose their newness too.

Polter · 04/11/2017 19:30

What juice are you using? If it's freshly made it won't be ready to vape yet. If it's high VG you won't get as much flavour as high PG (but you'll get a smoother vape). I do think 18mg nicotine is quite high for newer kit too.

Tuttytoffee · 04/11/2017 19:37

I got them off rejuiced and it said it would come ready to vape on the email. I just got standard ones I don't thing they are high vg. I've put some 12mg strawberry in before. I did leave it 10 mins too. Maybe as you says it's the new coil and I'll taste the flavour properly in a few hours. It's definitely not tasting so bad burn wise anymore just a lingering taste of it

OP posts:
Polter · 04/11/2017 19:40

I did find that when I started I needed stronger tasting juices until my taste buds started working properly again (at which point all my original juices started to taste vile!).

Tuttytoffee · 04/11/2017 19:43

Actually it's a 30pg 70vg. I've just looked. It smells strong. I'll just start it properly tomorrow and call into a shop with it and see if there's anything ive done to it or a better juice I can buy. It might be better tomorrow once I've used it a bit. I can really tell it's got high nicotine in at the min too. Very strong

OP posts:
Jins · 04/11/2017 21:26

Rejuiced strawberry is quite a strong flavour.

I've done something similar in the past. It took a coil change and a good wash of the tank but it settled down.

Good luck
