Has anybody got one of these?

I am so confused with this vaping. I bought a pen type vaoe a few weeks ago, hated it, it was too hot on my lips and I could not stop coughing. So today i took it back to the shop and they advised me to get one with variabke settings and try that, so I exchanged it for a TC150 Cool Fire.

I have messed around with it and have messed up all the settings. I am vaping 3mg liquid. But I have no idea what type of coil is in it and need to set the coil type. Is is stainless steel, titanium or what? Then what is the ideal watage and temperature? Also on the bottom left of the screen there is another setting for something that changes from V to OW when I mess around with it.

Please help before I throw this out of the window having wasted another load of money! I am trying to stop smoking by vaping but I just cannot seem to get it right!

Not exactly what I would give to a beginner but head over to YouTube and check out some reviews. Be aware that the EU version of the kit will have a different tank than the rest of the world, EU TPD compliant 2ml tank, which may have different coils so try a UK based reviewer so you've got the right kit.
Wattage depends on resistance of coil, usually these days there's a power range on the side of the coil so just adjust to taste within that band. Temperature control not something I'm interested in so I only vape kanthal coils in wattage mode but again maybe a reviewer out there will put you right.

They've sold you a completely inappropriate kit IMHO. It's a sub ohm kit that will always feel warm.

I would take it back as it is not what you asked for.

The Aspire Triton Mini is my favourite tank, the 1.8 coils are perfect for ordinary vaping and you can use the tank with any standard battery, eLeaf iSticks are my go to battery.

Tell them you need a mouth to lung to kit and not a sub ohm kit. Not all vape shops are run by people who know their products.

That's a sub-ohm device and they shouldn't of really sold you that if you are new to vaping.

I only ever use wattage mode on my devices but it will depend on the tank and coil at what range you should use (some coils have this written on them) most kits like the one you got come with a stainless steel coil which you can use on wattage mode and a Ni200 to use on temperature mode.

Oh god, I am gutted now to hear they have sold me the wrong one. I don't know if they will change this one, they changed it to this one reluctantly.

Is it really bad to use this type? I smoke about 20 a day so a hardcore smoker and really want a substitute. I have no clue what I am doing or what to buy.

It's not bad, but it's not a kit for beginners and not really ideal as an immediate smoking replacement.

Ultimately the right kit is whatever works for you. Do you remember what your first kit was? I'm quite taken with the Aspire Pockex as an easy piece of kit.

SaucyJack · 21/08/2017 23:11

Sub-ohming isn't bad at all, but it will take you a lot longer to work your way around as opposed to a cheapy pen vape. Think of it like operating an iPhone compared to a Nokia 3330.

Have you got any spare coils in the box? What do they say on them?

I use a Coolfire IV+, but it automatically recognises what ohm coils are in it.
