How can I stay stopped?

I stopped smoking on 7th August and have had a couple of blips since then. On day one and two I had 3 cigarettes, and I have had three days where I have had one. Just came back from holiday today, dd has gone to her dads and I was really wanting a cigarette so I've gone and bought some Hmm. I feel so disappointed in myself. How can I stop myself doing this? How am I ever going to stay stopped if I can't get passed these cravings? Any advice would be very welcome.

are you on nicotine replacement?

Hi yes I have been using patches but thought I would be ok by now. I guess I should have put one on.

Have you thought about a very low nicotine level e-cig? Possibly a disposable one, so you don't get tempted to just keep topping it up & vaping. You can tuck it in a drawer for those really bad moments, and unlike if you buy a packet of cigs you can just put it away after a few draws & not worry about the waste of not smoking the whole cig in one go, or smoking the whole packet before it goes ucky & dried out.

Thank you, that's a really good idea. I didn't know they did them with different levels of nicotine. I'll have a look online and see what I can find.

Nicotine levels are typically 6mg, 12mg, 16/18mg, and a few do 24mg but that's going to be banned by the EU. You can also get 0% nicotine for those who the habit is harder to break than the nicotine addiction, or who just enjoy the action. Please note these levels do not equate directly to cigarette levels, as nicotine is absorbed very differently with vaping.

A "typical" 20 a day smoker will use 18mg (1.8%) strength, so you're likely to need a bit less. However I would suggest initially trying a range of strengths (and flavours!) to see what you get on with the best. Do be aware that you won't get that "aah" moment smokers get on first lighting up!
