I've read so many varying reports on different airlines policy, most seem fine with it, but we aren't checking luggage in as its £80 extra! I was just going to wing it and bung em in my handbag. I've been rushing about all week trying to get organised and now im panicking. I've put my juice in the clear liquids bag they ask you to, but not sure about the batteries.

Normal batteries are fine in hand baggage. It's only the Lithium ones that are restricted.

When you say juice , it has to be in a bottle that holds less than 100 ml ( that's small ) . But you buy any size airside.

Allergictoironing · 12/06/2014 06:16

You should be fine with a couple of standard bottles - biggest practical sized bottles tend to be around 30ml & most are 10ml. You may want to temporarily remove the clearo from the battery just to avoid weird or silly questions from airline staff who have no idea what they are, though that shouldn't be necessary.

The thing where the airlines do vary is USE of e-cigs on board; most don't allow it. But there's always the loos, and depending on the size & shininess of your kit you may well get away with stealth vaping especially if you aren't sitting next to a stranger Wink.

A teaspoon is 5 ml so a 30 ml bottle is small. A standard drink is about 330 ml.

There's a good VTTV show where they discuss air travel with vape gear It's quite long though and it's not properly edited so the first 10 mins or so are just them blathering while they get ready to start the show properly. In case you don't have time to watch it before you leave, the main advice seems to be:

  • don't take anything too expensive, just in case it is confiscated (unlikely)
  • take one lot of kit in your hand luggage and one in your pocket/handbag, just in case one lot is confiscated
  • if in doubt, stealth Wink
  • your main problem will likely be leaky clearos due to cabin pressure. They advise using something like an evod or a gs-h2 but carrying it upside down so the pressure can equalise.

Have a brilliant holiday!

Am just back from hols - flew through Gatwick. Had 8 x 10 ml bottles in hand luggage, put them in the wee bag they give you for security & my current clearo as it had liquid in it. Rest of batteries in hand bag - no probs what so ever.

Leaky clearos are indeed overcome by Plent's advice.

I went to Turkey & had no problems doing the same on return.

Also stealth vaped on Squeezy Jet - no probs!

Have a great time.

Best to avoid Dubai though.....banned there. Mind you I have the fear of going through Dubai, as I've had co codamol on me and in my system without my perscription and hadn't realised that could have landed me in jail for 4 years Shock

Leccy fags just get conficated apparently.....

I put mine in my handbag, removed the clearo and put that in with my liquids clear plastic bag. I did actually have a 100ml bottle of grants vanilla custard, but no problems either there or back. In fact arrecife airport id bunged foundation and shampoo in my suitcase in a rush, and even that went through no problem.
