I am an avid reader and I'm looking for a new book, I'm very interested in step dynamics being a stepmum myself. I enjoyed reading 'other peoples children' which was brilliant. But I'm looking for more along this ilk. Not looking for a rosy hallmark type or self help although I absolutely loved Stepmonster so if there is a recommendation on something like that I'll take it. I also listen to books on audible so audio versions are great for me. TIA

Following with interest.

There seems to be limited books on the topic which is weird considering how many step-families there are nowadays.

I struggled to find kids ones too for my DSD when we were trying to explain the family dynamic to her and thought a book would be helpful. Ended up getting one about different types of families but I was really scraping at the bottom of the barrell to even find that one.

Hopefully you get a good few suggestions. I've been looking for something new for audible. Going to give "other people's children" a go.

Following with interest, I haven't heard of other people's children but the subject is certainly relatable. Will have to look it up, good idea for a thread!

My mum recommended other people's children and I loved it, I might give it a re read tbh

I’ve been looking for children’a books that don’t talk about the topic specifically but where a main character happens to have separated parents, etc. Normalise it!
